"Y/N?" You heard Liam, vaguely as you ignored it and continued to read your book which you were infatuated with.

"Y/N?" You heard your name being called again, frantically as you put your book down.

"I'm in here!" You shouted back, referring to your shared bedroom.

"Oh good, I found you." Liam sighed in relief, entering the bedroom.

"What do you need?" You asked.

"I-I, it's nothing," he stuttered, taking a deep breath as his hands shook slightly.

"Liam, what's wrong?" You asked, realising there was something wrong.

"Can I talk to you?" He sighed, sitting down next to you as you rubbed his back.

"Of course you can, what is it?" You were worried by this point, seeing Liam upset was such a rare thing, he was usually so happy and he worried you when he was like this.

"I haven't had a very good day." He answered, leaning into you as he propped his feet up onto the bed.

"What happened?" You questioned, wanting to know what had gotten him so upset.

"I went into the studio earlier this morning, hoping to get some extra work done and I didn't manage much only the same as usual and I feel like such a let down." He explained, sighing as he wrapped his arms around your waist, cuddling further towards you, hugging you sideways as you returned the gesture.

"But you usually get a lot done," you retorted.

"You look exhausted, are you sure you didn't get a lot done? You've been going into the studio a lot earlier and coming home later sometimes, so what makes you think your a let down?" You added, confused.

"Management said I should work harder and I thought I already did, so it made me question whether I was working hard enough. Clearly I'm not." He mumbled the last sentence and you were shocked.

"They didn't say it to the rest of the boys, just to me." He added.

"Liam, you work hard as it is and with the way you've been lately, I'd be fuming if they didn't agree. Your more than good enough and you need to stop thinking about what they say and rethink all of the work you've done today. Are you sure it wasn't enough? Because I wasn't even there and I'm certain it was more than enough." You defended him as he thought over what you had said.

"Well I did think I work hard and the boys said that I do too...but why would management say it if they weren't thinking it?" Liam asked you.

"I don't know why they said it, but I do know they work you guys way too hard sometimes and everyone can see it, me, the boys, the fans, everyone. Just be who you are. The majority of people know your hard working, why are you letting one set of people persuade you otherwise?" You asked him, rubbing his back.

"Your right, I am letting them get to me when everyone else is saying they're wrong and I shouldn't." He said, finally standing up for himself and you smiled.

"Why didn't you tell me this sooner? You could've come to me."

"I don't know, I guess I thought I could handle it and that if I worked harder it would get better, but it's not." He explained.

"Well your going into work at the normal time next week, but right now you've got time to relax and that's exactly what your going to do." You told him, firmly and he smiled, his eyes scrunching up slightly as he laughed.

"Okay," he said as he sat up fully to wrap you into a hug.

"I love you, thank you. I don't know what I'd do without you." He said, sincerely.

"I love you too and whenever someone says something to put you down, remember the people who care about you. We'd never want you to put yourself down over anything, not necessarily because we see you as perfect, but because we love you for who you are." You told him, seriously and he nodded quickly.

You smiled, happy to have gotten your Liam back.
