Chapter Six

06 - Love

Zavi will be here in a few minutes. I'm just waiting for him to call me since I texted him to beep me once he's here. Ayoko na rin siyang papuntahin dito at hintayin niya na lang ako sa harap.

"Thalia." I glanced where I heard my name.

I saw Jave marching towards me. The first thing I noticed was his lopsided grin. He grabbed a chair and sat in front of me.

Tinignan ko siya at nagtaas ng kilay. I saw the corners of his mouth quirked up.

"Hi." He taunted.

"Hello," I replied taking a short glimpse at him and back to my phone since it vibrated. I took it and read the message I received. It was Zavi and informed me that he's in the parking lot right now.

I replied "okay" and hurriedly got my bag on the table and stood up. I gazed at Jave, eyebrows snapped together that implies him asking where am I going.

"Jave, I need to go. May pupuntahan pa ako. Bye." Lalagpasan ko na sana siya nang hawakan niya ang braso ko.

"Why?" I inquired.

"Where are you going?" He interrogated.

"In the parking lot." I shot back even though I'm not sure if I really need to answer that.

"I'll walk you there." Nakita ko siyang kinuha ang bag niya at nagsimula nang lumakad. He stopped when he felt that I didn't follow him.

He looked back and started to approach me when I strutted my way towards him.

"Tara." Sinabi ko na lang at nag-umpisa anng maglakad papunta sa parking lot.

My mind flew somewhere and began to wonder. Hindi naman kami close ni Jave pero may ganito pang nangyayari.

We just dined out one time and that's it. It's not that I'm hoping for the next time but I'm still processing his actions. Dalawang araw nang magkakasunod na ganito siya.

I just shrugged my shoulders. I peered at him and caught him staring at me. Nagulat man ako'y hindi ko na lang pinahalata by looking away.

His eyes were intense. Parang nakikita ko rin sa mga mata niya kung paano ako tignan ni Zavi. It seems like when those pairs of eyes set at you, they can see the real you.

"Did you take your lunch?" I'm about to answer him when my eyes caught the guy I'm waiting for.

From here, I can still see his expression hardened. I smiled at him but he didn't return it. I pouted.

I tore my eyes at him and looked at Jave. Nakita ko siyang kanina pa pala nakatitig sa akin.

"Jave, I gotta go. See you around." I waved my hand at him and sprinted my way to Zavi.

His eyes bored at me and lifted his brows. At kapag ganyan siya at ako nama'y natutuwa ngayon, I tiptoed and didn't think twice to lean in and kissed his cheeks.

"Hi, Zavi!" I greeted him.

Suplado naman niya akong tinignan. I caught him looking back and since I'm curious, I glanced where he's looking.

Many students are going out and I still saw Jave there. Looking at us, I think.

When Jave caught my eyes, he smiled and waved back then he approached his friends waiting for him near their cars.

Nakangiti akong binalingan ulit si Zavi at nahuli ko pa ang matalim na tingin niya kay Jave. He looked away and focused his eyes on me. His expression didn't change.
