Chapter Thirty-Seven

37 - Again

The following day, I booked my flight. I took the earliest flight there is to go home immediately.

Dad stayed in New York for a while. He said that he'd follow hereafter their client meeting with some businessmen.

I smiled when I spotted Rave walking towards me. He's sporting his usual playful smirk while looking at me. He's wearing a black shirt and black jeans. Nakasumbrero rin siya ng itim at nakaputing sapatos. The flowers he's holding are very out of place with what he's wearing.

"Hey." Malambing niyang sabi sabay halik sa aking pisngi. He offered me the flowers and I accepted it. "I miss you." Saad niya.

"Thanks." Sambit ko. He guided me towards his flashy sports car.

"Drive me to the hospital, Rave." Imporma ko.

Nakita ko ang pagkunot ng perpektong kilay niya sa sinabi ko.

"Why don't you take a rest first? Tito Regis told me to drive you home."

Rave and I met when daddy asked me to go with him in a lunch meeting with a certain businessman. Sabi ni daddy ay kilala na niya ito at kaibigan ang mga magulang niya. And it was Eryx Draven Ramirez.

Before we went home that night, he asked my father.

"Can I be with friends with your daughter, Tito Regis?

My mouth parted when I heard his question to my father. I saw my father chuckled and tapped his back.

"Ask my daughter, young man." Sabay naman silang tumingin sa akin.

"Can I?" Ulit niya.

"Uh... of course." Mahina kong sabi.

I don't know what to say, but I just said yes since he seems to be a nice person, even though he looks like a playboy, and he's my dad's business partner, after all. And, my father knew him and his family, so might as well be friends with him.

Ngumiti siya akin at sinuklian ko na lang iyon. After that night, and as the days passed, we became friends until he asked... said rather that he'll court me one day.

"What?" Gulat kong tanong.

"I'll court you, Thalia." He said seriously while looking at me.

"But..." I was about to refuse but he held my hands. Kita ang alinlangan sa mga mata ko at alam kong kita niya iyon. However... he's too firm with his decision.

"I'm willing to wait, Thalia. No need to give me an answer immediately. I can wait..." I bit my lip while trying to find the right words to reply. I don't know what to say because it's my first time to be asked like this.

"Rave..." Tanging saad ko na lang.

"Come on, Thalia. Don't reject me right now, please. Let me show you the love I can give for you." He held my face and looked me in the eyes.

I looked away. "Modestine, please, look at me." He softly said. I met his hopeful eyes.

"Please..." I bit my lip and slowly nodded at him. I saw how his lips curled up to a smile. He leaned forward and pressed a kiss on my forehead.

"Thank you, Thalia..." I don't know how but I saw myself returning his hug.

"Uh... gusto kong makita si Solandis. I'm worried about her. Please, Rave?" He nodded.

"Okay. But, I'll come with you." He replied.

"Aren't you busy?" He shook his head.

"I took a leave for this day. I wanted to be with you." He answered that warmed my heart.
