Chapter Twenty

20 - Explain

Maaga akong bumaba at naabutan si mommy doon na kausap si Zavi. Agad namang silang napatingin sa direksyon ko nang makalapit ako sa kanila.

Then after welcoming the new year together that night, he went immediately here in the morning.

Hindi ko pa nga naintindihan na ang sabihin pala ng mensahe niyang "See you." ay pupunta siya dito para makilala si mommy.

I was shocked when he appeared in front of our door first thing in the morning. I don't know what to feel most especially that he's good at timing since mommy doesn't have work that day.

I am so happy when they met each other and got time to talk. Iyon nga lang ay sinabihan ako ni mommy na manatili sa kwarto muna habang kinakausap niya si Zavi.

That's why when I had the chance when Zavi and I were alone, I urged him to tell me what they talked about.

I frowned when Zavi ruffled my hair and just smiled at me before shaking his head.

"It's just for us, baby. No need for you to know it." I glared at him but I just earned a chuckle from him.

I stopped thinking about what happened that day as I went to mommy and kissed her cheeks.

"Good morning, 'my." Bati ko.

I glanced at Zavi and he smiled at me. "Good morning." Sabay naming bati sa isa't isa.

Lumingon naman ako sa relo ko at kailangan ko nang pumunta sa school dahil baka ma-late pa ako at madamay si Zavi.

"My, alis na po kami." She nodded and looked at Zavi.

"Ingatan mo anak ko, Zavi." Paalala niya na ikinalaki ng mata ko.

"Mommy!" I exclaimed. Narinig ko naman ang mahinang tawa ni Zavi sa gilid bago ko naramdaman ang kamay niyang pumalibot sa katawan ko.

He pressed a kiss on my hair before speaking. "I will, Ma'am." He assured and guided me out of our apartment.

After he maneuvered his car, he held my hand. My breathing hitched with what he did. I looked at him and his eyes were on me before he focused it on the road.

"I like the way your hand fits in mine." His voice softened. Para namang may humaplos sa puso dahil sa sinabi niya.

Tuwing ganito siya ay hindi ko maiwasan ang sayang nararamdaman ko. Ang sarap pakinggan na ganyan ang nararamdaman niya para sa akin. I always feel content every time I am with him.

The memory flashed in front of my eyes what happened on new year's day. A flush crept up my face remembering our kiss.

Agad akong umiwas ng tingin sa kanya at tumingin na lang sa bintana sa banda ko para maiwasang mahuli niya ang namumulang mukha ko.

After that night, we never talked about what happened. Nahihiya naman akong ungkatin iyon dahil na rin naiilang akong pag-usapan iyon.

I don't know if that's right, but I don't want to put awkwardness between us because of that.

I just cherished that moment and I think that I will never forget that for the rest of my life.

Yes, the kiss was magical. Even though I had relationships before, Zavi's kiss was my first.

I don't have any idea what to do at that time but I thought that he felt it too that's why he guided me through it. I feel like I was on cloud nine that night. Para akong nasa alapaap sa gabing iyon. It caused nervousness yet I felt like I was enchanted.
