Chapter Twenty-Seven

27 - Stop

It's his birthday today. July 7.

I asked Zoey to help me decorate Zavi's unit. It was not hard going in his penthouse without his knowledge since Zavi gave me his passcode.

It was unexpected, but that made me happy. I thought that giving me that simple thing meant that Zavi trusts me.

Actually, I was only the one decorated, and Zoey just accompanied me. It was my choice not to ask for help since I was arranging my surprise for Zavi, and I want to do it independently.

That way, I will feel that I did my best to give him a simple yet significant birthday.

I planned everything from up to his bedroom. There were red petals of roses scattered on his floor, as well as balloons.

I made a pathway using the petals to his bedroom as well as in his bedroom.

"Wow, effort ha!" It was Zoey as she's busy roaming around looking for what I did. "Girlfriend na girlfriend." She mocked.

"Ayos ba?" Tanong ko.

"Of course! It's so nice. Magugustuhan ni kuya 'yan!" Tudyo niya.

"You think so?" Alinlangan kong tanong.

"Oo naman! Ikaw kaya may surpresa. Favorite ka no'n kaya okay sa kanya lahat ng gagawin mo."

After decorating, we took a rest for a while. Then, we went out Zavi's penthouse together. Zoey went home, and I went to Zavi's company.

"Good luck with your surprise, Thalia. Balitaan mo ako after. Or tomorrow na lang." She said, then winked before going inside their car.

I released a heavy sigh. I hope that Zavi will love it.

As soon as the taxi halted, I went out and looked up and saw the big emblem of SVD Holdings. I only see their company in pictures back then but now pwede na akong pumunta anong oras ko man gustuhin.

I greeted the Kuya Rigo and told him that I'd visit their boss. He smiled at me.

"Birthday ni Engineer ngayon, Thalia. Susurprise mo?"

"Opo!" Masaya kong sabi. He gave me a thumbs up then, and I waved my hand at him to say goodbye.

At the front desk, I saw one of their employee. Kung dati ay pwede akong dumiretso sa office niya pero dahil bago ang nasa front desk nila ay tinanong niya ako. I smiled at her when she looked up at me.

"May I help you, Ma'am?" She asked.

"Zavi Saavedra's office." As soon as I told her that, I saw how her brows shot up and looked at me from head to toe.

Wow! The effect of Zavi to his employees. Ganyan ba lahat ang reaction ng babaeng ito tuwing tinatanong ng bawat bibisita kay Zavi ang office nito?

"What do you need from him?" Tinaasan na pa rin ako ng kilay and her courteousness was gone.

"I'll just visit him." I answered softly. Andoon pa rin ang pagtaas ng kilay niya sa akin at talim ng tingin niya.

"Do you have any appointment?" Patuloy pa rin siya sa pangmamata sa akin.

"I don't have. I'll just visit hi-" Halos mapaawang ang labi ko sa kanya nang putulin niya ang pagsasalita.

"Engineer Saavedra doesn't like to be disturbed. You may leave." She looked at me from head to toe, and soon as she met my eyes, she raised my brows.

"What? You can call his secretary that I'm here." Agap ko dahil na rin talagang pursugido siyang mapaalis ako.

"I can't. Engineer is busy." Bumuntong-hininga ako at kahit ayaw kong gawin ay wala na akong choice.
