Part I - Priceless
"Hello, Kuya!" My sister, Zoey, waved her hand at me. She called me through Facetime because she told me she misses me.
"Zoey." I greeted.
"How are you?"
She kept on talking to me when I saw a girl sat on a sofa. My eyes fixed on her that I couldn't manage to understand what Zoey's talking about. Zoey must've noticed her because of my keen stares at her back. That's why she hurriedly bid her goodbye to me.
"Kuya, bye na, hindi mo ako sinasagot! My best friend is here!" Before I can reply, she immediately ended the call. That's the first time I saw her.
What luck did I have when I saw her again, most significantly, meet her personally. "Kuya, meet my very beautiful best friend, Thalia." I glanced at her.
Indeed, she's so beautiful... The first time won't compare to what I felt when I saw her near me right now.
I stared at her intently. Trying to memorize her beautiful face and God feels so illegal to stare at her this way. It feels like you have to pay just to have a sight of her...
I saw how she smiled at me... and damn, I don't know what to feel at that moment. I don't want her to feel awkward around me because of my stares. That's why I nodded at her and set my eyes on my sister.
From my peripheral view, I saw how her lips frowned. I almost got distracted with that and tried to keep my composure.
I don't want to act as if it's my first time to see a girl because it's not. I had my fair share of women in my life... not that it was serious. Just like my friends, we had our flings. No relationships as well as no commitments.
I was so used to girls throwing themselves at me. When I know they have interests in me, and I am very game to those types of connections, I don't mind having them around me.
But with Thalia, she's different... extremely different.
"Thalia!" When Zoey called her, I took that opportunity to fix my eyes on her again. I almost smirked when I saw her looking at me as well as the blush on her cheeks...
Oh, baby, why'd you look away again?
Damn, Zavi, really? Baby? What the fuck!
That's why to stop me from my deep and different thoughts, and I bid my goodbye to my sister and one last time... I glanced at her again.
"Happy birthday, kuya!" Zoey hugged me. Zach, my younger brother, tapped my back. "Happy birthday, kuya!"
"Happy birthday, Hijo." Mom kissed me on my cheeks. "Thanks, mom." And my dad greeted me as well and hugged me.
"Where are you na?" I heard Zoey. She's busy talking on her phone.
"Okay, okay... See you soon, Thalia!" She excitedly uttered.
Something in me changed when I realized that she's coming here. More so, when I saw her and met her beautiful eyes. The natural pink on her cheeks was emphasized more when I saw her blushed again for the second time while I am looking at her...
Immediately, I fucking looked away and went back to my room, even though I went there a while ago, just to stop me from doing something fucking unbelievable that I myself would never believe.
I went inside my room in the mansion, which I seldom stay since I have my own place in the Metro.
In the dining, they greeted me again. I kept on stealing glances at her whenever someone's not looking.
