Chapter Fifteen

15 - Almost

I don't how I look right now. I was very much surprised by his sudden appearance.

It was only more than a week before he left. And then there he is... on the court. With his jersey uniform.

Hindi ko alam kung bakit napadali ang uwi niya dahil ang sabi niya ay mahigit dalawang linggo siya doon.

"Oh, Thalia, kalma. Hindi tayo pwedeng bumaba para i-satisfy 'yang sarili mo na makita siya ng malapitan." I heard Zoey joked.

I glared at her but she just laughed at me.

"Alam mo, ikaw, kanina ka pa." Banta ko sa kanya na mas lalo lang nagpatawa sa kanya.

"You're too focused on Kuya. Now, who's very much in love sa ating dalawa?" She almost put her hands on her hips with what she asked me.

I looked again at Zavi and he's talking to his friends. Nakita ko pa ang pagtawa ng iba sa kanila tungkol sa pinag-uusapan nila.

I examined him and he looked good and beautiful wearing sportswear. Kakaiba sa Zavi na lagi kong nakikita. Without his suit and domineering aura in the business world.

Although, you can still notice the dominance with what he's wearing right now, he looks just like a very serious athlete that has a certain goal — to win.

The referee whistled and gestured the game to start. Naunang pumasok si Zavi, Credence, Zadkiel, Laszlo, and Severin. And from the varsities, Kuya Zach, Blaze, Jave, someone whose surname is Figueroa, and Ridge.

"Ang ga-gwapo nila! Nakakaloka!" Someone behind our back exclaimed.

Nagkatinginan kami Zoey at natawa naman kami sa isa't isa. We can almost see ourselves with the girls behind even though we were almost seen together with some of the players.

"Oo nga! Ang sarap nilang panoorin. Nakakawala ng katinuan." Someone seconded. Napailing na lang ako.

The varsities got their first possession. Credence guarding Jave. And by the looks of it, they are just talking and laughing. They seem close as cousins.

Zadkiel guarding Figueroa. They are not talking as Figueroa dribbling the ball and Zadkiel was too focused on his opponent and the ball.

Kuya Zach and Severin were against each other. Nag-uusap sila. Kuya Zach can be seen with his wide smile and Severin with his almost force and a little smile. Natawa naman ako dahil na rin doon. Taong walang emosyon. Almost like Zavi.

Laszlo was in a defensive position against Blaze. Paminsan-minsan ay nag-uusap sila. Hindi ko nga lang maisip kung paano sila magkakilala. Maybe because of Zoey or their businesses.

Lastly, I saw Zavi and Ridge. I don't know if it is usual but the way Zavi looks at Ridge seems different. May talim ito at salubong ang kilay. The other one was sporting his usual playful aura and his wicked smirk.

"Ang gagaling nila! Nakaka-inlove." Nagulat kami ni Zoey sa narinig namin. Hopefully, hindi kay Zavi o Blaze siya naiinlove! Sa amin na sila. Maghanap na lang siya ng bago.

The score was not far from each other. Dikit na dikit. It was only two points away and the team of the varsities was leading.

"Tumingin 'yung mga Saavedra dito!" Someone shouted behind us again.

Tumingin naman ako kila Zavi at sa pinsan niya at talagang nakatingin sa pwesto namin. Matalim pa rin ang tingin ni Zavi at ang pinsan niya ay parang nang-aasar.

I took my phone and tried to capture Zavi. Kita ang mukha niya dito at kita naman ang likod ng pinsan niya. Napangiti naman ako nang ilipat ko ulit ang tingin ko sa nakuhang litrato.
