I dropped onto the droid, landing quietly on the metal exoskeleton. Tapping the outer layer, I found a weak spot in the shell and pulled out a tool from my belt. I flipped a switch and a spark ignited on the end. Slowly, I used the tool to cut through the metal. Jumping on the weakened area, I dropped through the ceiling into a chamber full of wires and mechanisms. I darted over to the large red eye and peered out.
A battalion of droids entered the hangar. The others must have set off the alarm. Perfect.
I scrambled around the mess of wires, quickly discovering how the machine worked. Hopping over to a large panel on the wall, I cut the wire connecting to it. "There. Wouldn't want you turning on me now would we." I patted the metal wall and ran back over to the eye. Here came the others, leading more droids into the hangar.
I snatched a wire from above my head and clipped it. Then, I rubbed them together like I was hot wiring a speeder and the canon fired, blowing a platoon of droids to kingdom come.
I grinned. I was going to enjoy this. I kept up the cover fire until the others had reached the ship.Snipping another wire, I turned the head, aiming the gun at the hangar entrance. I fired again, collapsing the door. Satisfied, I leapt out of the droid and climbed down to the hangar floor. I dashed towards the ship, eliminating the straggling droids along the way. I snatched the tracer off the ship as I ducked inside and yelled at Tech to take off.
We rose into the air.
An alarm blared through the room and the hangar's blast doors began to close. We wouldn't make it.
Without a second thought, I jumped to the ground and made a break for the control room. I fought my way to the control panel, scanning the many buttons, looking for the blast door's override.
Finally, I spotted the switch and flipped it, making the doors slow, stop, and creep back open.
Just as I was about to celebrate, the droids broke through the collapsed entrance. I bolted out of the control room and down to the hangar. I ran towards the ship, but it was clear that the droids would reach it first.
Hawk stood in the doorway firing on the oncoming droids.
I caught his attention. "Take off!"
He hesitated.
"Now!" I kept running.
He walked into the ship and soon it was hovering above the floor, drifting towards the exit.
I knew there was little chance of me being able to reach them in time, but I pushed forward. As the ship reached the shield exiting the frater, I jumped, barely grabbing the lip of the still open door.
Hawk appeared from inside and pulled me up. He closed the door and yelled at Tech. "Get us out of here."
We exited the hangar on the opposite side of the barricade. Open space lay before us.
Tech pressed a bunch of buttons and jerked a lever and we shot into light speed, leaving Lah'mu and the barricade behind us.A/N
