I stared at the two Kyber Crystals lying on the table before me. I studied each angle, each line, each facet of the orange crystals. There was a wide array of materials that I could build my lightsabers from, but I had to choose the one that fit my style and personality.

My mind settled on a unique metal that was native to the planet of Mandalore - Beskar, better known as Mandalorian Iron. It was strong and hard, yet could be turned into the most beautiful pieces of armor. My mind was made up, but I doubted that the Jedi had some Beskar just lying around, especially given their past with the Mandalorians.

If I really wanted to make my lightsabers out of  Mandalorian Iron, I would need someone to take me to Mandalore.

"Dangerous, it will be." Master Yoda sat calmly on a circular platform across from me in a rather dark room.

"I know Master, but I have to try." I sat on a similar platform. "I can't explain it, but it feels like a need to use Beskar to make my lightsaber."

He nodded. "So be it." He hopped off of the platform. "Take you to Mandalore, Master Gallia will."

I gave a slight bow. "Thank you Master."

Master Adi Gallia, was a female Tholothian and a member of the Jedi high council. She agreed to take me to Mandalore with a squad of clones.

We left immediately so as to complete our mission as soon as possible. Entering Mandalorian territory unannounced, was never a good idea and getting permission, took a long time. Better to get in and out without being noticed.

We reached the Mandalore system and slowly made our way to the mining sector. We landed the ship and waited until nightfall.
————
With the darkness, we snuck our way inside of a mining complex. Master Gallia led the group into the tunnel, her lightsaber lighting the way.
The tunnel seemed to stretch on forever, but finally, we reached the end.

I ran my hand along the rough walls. I could feel the differences in the stone. A strain of Beskar ore glimmered in the light of Master Gallia's weapon.

She felt the precious metal. "We got lucky. They found some today. This is no common metal." She met my gaze. "Give me a hand."

We held our hands towards the wall with the ore and focused on the rock around it.
With a loud crack, a large boulder broke free from the wall.

"This should be enough." Master Gallia turned to the four clones with them. "Lead the way."

Turning on flashlights, the clones marched back the way we had come. Partway to the entrance, there was a rumble deep in the mine.
Everyone looked back.

Master Gallia was the first to compose herself. "Move. Now!"

We bolted down the tunnel. Soon the light of the moon came into view. We escaped the mine just as the entrance collapsed.

There was a scream. One of the clones was trapped beneath the rocks.

Dropping the boulder, I turned my focus to the rocks that buried the clone. They lift just enough for the others to pull him free.

I struggled to catch my breath as two of the clones helped the other to his feet.

"Thank you." He favored his left leg and leaned heavily on one of the other clones.

I took deep breaths. "No problem."

We made our way slowly back to the ship, loading the Beskar ore on board and taking off. We got what we came for. It was time to go home.
