Found

I slashed a branch out of the way as we marched down the hill. Hawk trudged along behind me, watching his beacon. I pushed through the brush at the bottom of the slope.

"That way." Hawk pointed Northeast where his screen showed the beacon was moving away from us.

We were still too far away to intercept them.
I thought over our path before turning to Hawk. "We need to run. Follow me closely."

Hawk, having learned not to question me at this point, simply nodded.

We took off at a brisk pace, chasing the beacon through the trees.

Slowly, we gained on the blinking dot on Hawk's screen.

Soon, the sound of gunfire erupted before us.
I slowed to a stop. "It sounds like someone found them before us."

Hawk glanced over at the origin of the noise. "What are we waiting for? I've been itching to bust some clankers since I got here."

I grabbed his arm. "We can't just run in there with no plan. We're outnumbered."

He hesitated, but nodded.

I nodded back. "Wait here. I'm going to figure out what exactly is going on over there."

I vaulted a fallen log and jumped up, grabbing a low-hanging branch. I pulled myself into the treetops. Lunging from one tree to the next, I made my way to a vantage point of the battle.

A battalion of droids marched forward on the small green Jedi from before and a trooper. They held back the enemy as best they could, but they were quickly losing ground.

I rushed back to Hawk and explained the situation. Again I had to hold him back from making a bull-headed move.

I made him look at me. "You loop around to the right and I'll take the left. Wait for my signal."

He clenched his fists and nodded.

We parted ways and disappeared in the brush and foliage of the woods.

I stood at the tree line, trying to spot Hawk through all the chaos. Soon, he appeared on the opposite side of the droid advance.
I made eye contact and nodded slowly.
He signaled that he had seen me and unholstered his blasters.

I pulled me staff over my shoulder, off of my back and rose to my feet.

In sync, we charged onto the field, bashing droids.

I pressed a button on my staff and sparks of lightening arced at the end. I stabbed a droid, sending bolts of lightening blasting across its body. Several strikes arced over to other droids. I wrenched the staff free and smacked another droid.

Across the battlefield, Hawk grabbed a droid by the neck and used it as a shield, blasting every droid he saw.

The Jedi and the other trooper rushed forward to help us, gaining back ground as the droids fumbled in surprise.

The trees behind us creaked and a tank burst through the forest, flattening several trees.
The few droids that remained retreated behind the vehicle to regroup.

Hawk and I backed up to where the others stood their ground.

My grip tightened on my staff.

The Jedi glanced my way ever so slightly.

"General, do something." The other trooper sounded uncannily like Hawk.

The tank aimed its massive cannon.

Not entirely sure what I was doing, I rushed forward, blocking the others from the blast.
Hawk tried to follow.

Something clicked inside me and took over. I watched my body, but I was not in control of it.
I thrust my hand towards Hawk and he flew backwards without anything touching him. Turning back to the tank, I narrowed my eyes and lifted one hand. I sliced it down and the tank split in half cleanly along the line I had traced with my hand. The mutilated tank exploded, the shrapnel decimating the droids. The shock wave threw the debris towards us, but I lifted a hand and it stopped a few feet away, floating in midair. It dropped with a violent clanging.

I gasped as I regained control of my body, dropping to my knees. What had just happened?

Sorry about the wait. I was gone at camp for a week. This chapter was a little longer, so I hope that starts to make up for it. I will be gone next week as well. So, don't worry, I'm not dead. I'm just off the grid for a while. I'll upload as much as possible before then.
