The Sun began to set as I sat with Master Kenobi near one of the windows in the Jedi Temple. We didn't say anything. He had gotten back from another fight with Maul.
The Dathomirian had been attempting to form an army of criminals and pirates. Master Kenobi had managed to stop him, but Maul had escaped... again.
I sighed and tore my gaze away from the window. "You know it's not your fault, Master Kenobi. Evil always finds a way to survive."
He met my gaze and nodded. He stroked his beard as if in thought. "Lianna, you've known me long enough. You don't have to call me 'Master.'"
My heart leapt in my chest, but I hid my excitement. "What would you prefer?"
He rolled his eyes. "Just Obi wan will be fine."
I nodded. "Of course, Mas... I mean, Obi wan."
He chuckled.
Master Windu approached. "Obi wan, there's a message for you. It's from Duchess Satine."
I noticed Obi wan perk up ever so slightly. Out of curiosity, I followed the two Masters. Neither of them told me to stop, so I tailed them all the way into the briefing room. I stood on the outskirts as they replayed the message.
"This is a message for Obi wan Kenobi. I've lost Mandalore. The Deathwatch have taken control and Almec is once again Prime Minister." She looked back over her shoulder. "Help me Obi wan." Three fully armored Mandalorians landed around her and the message ended.
"From what I know the Deathwatch are no loner in league with the separatists." Obiwan stroked his beard thoughtfully.
"Than this is an internal matter for the Mandalorians." Master Windu concluded.
"We have to do something." Obi wan held.
"Nothing we can do, there is." Master Yoda stepped forward.
"He's right." Master Windu agreed. "Without the intergalactic threat of the separatists, we can't interfere."
The other Masters walked out, leaving me alone in the room with a thoughtful Obi wan.
"You're going alone, aren't you." I stepped out of the shadows.Obi wan met my gaze. "Yes, I can't sit here and do nothing."
"Well," I took a deep breath, "then I'm coming with you."
"It's too dangerous." He protested.
"And none of my other missions were?" I shot back. "You can't stop me. You're going to need help."
"You'll get in trouble." He reasoned.
"No more than you will." I countered.
He sighed. "Fine, but we're going to need a ship."
I smirked. "I think we both know who can get us one."
