The gunship sped towards the surface of the planet. The doors on the side slid open so that we could see the mutilated wreckage of a Republic ship down below.
Master Windu and Master Skywalker had been sent to investigate and search for survivors. From the looks of it, they would be lucky to survive themselves, which was why we were there.
The pilot pulled the ship up next to the command center of the vessel and three clones grappled it to hold us steady.
Master Plo Koon, Jarris, Ashoka, and I used the Force to hold the crumbling ship steady as a pair of clones jumped aboard to find the injured Jedi inside.
It got heavier as gravity pulled the the suspended bridge of the ship towards the planets arid surface.
One of the clones holding a grappling hook slid forward.
Releasing the ship, I connected to the energy of the clone and hauled him back into the ship. I focused on the other clones holding the grapples and held them all steady as we waited for the others to return.
Inch-by-inch the bridge broke free of the rest of the ship.
As Jarris and the others' strength seemed to be giving out, the clones returned, each shouldering a Jedi.
"Release!" Master Plo Koon ordered as the pair jumped back into the ship.
The grapples broke away and the trio released their hold on the ship.
The bridge broke free and crashed to the ground.
Jarris knelt beside his master as the gunship returned to the hangar of the main ship. I couldn't hear what they were saying, but they clasped hands and Master Windu smiled at his young padawan.
Ashoka looked like she was holding herself back so she didn't hug Master Skywalker. Instead she simply sat beside him and followed the droids as they carried him away on a stretcher.
Jarris stood next to me in front of the Jedi Temple as I watched the clones carry the two wounded Jedi to the medical bay. "Thank you for your help." He looked at me.
I met his gaze. "I didn't do that much."
He shook his head. "If you hadn't stepped in, we would've lost that clone and maybe everyone on the bridge too."
I shrugged. "I'm just trying to help."
"Well it means a lot." He grinned and pulled me into a side-hug.
I chuckled. "Anytime."
