31 •Happiness and Laughter•

(STILL WEDNESDAY - EVENING - ABANDONED CLINIC)

Laughter echoed in the abandoned clinic, the dark and creepy vibe vanished as a light and happy mood took its place despite the creepy halls and dark rooms.

"Hahaha! I can't believe that happened!" Umalingaw-ngaw ang malakas na halakhak ni Zein na sinundan naman nila Tyler. Naka-ngisi naman sina Freia, Clarisse at Zen habang mahinang tawa naman sila Krista at Caitlyn at inis na nakanguso si Zoe.

"Come on guys, it's not that funny!" The latter pouted, crossing her arms like a kid.

"Anong 'it's not that funny?' It's fuc--" biglang tumalim ang mga mata ng iba (maliban kay Caitlyn na walang kaalam-alam) kay Christian. Iisa lamang ang sinasabi ng mga matatalim nilang mata,

Watch-your-words. You'll ruin her innocence. Napalunok naman si Christian at alanganing natawa. He wiped his forehead in nervousness.

"Hmm?" Caitlyn looked at him curiously, "What's wrong, Christian?" Nagtataka nitong tanong at agad naman na-gets ni Christian kung bakit ganito nalang makatingin ang lahat sakanya.

"Ah-ha-ha-ha! I said, uh... nothing!" And he once again wiped the bead of sweat that formed on his forehead. Those death stares, those murderous aura and that insanely heavy pressure made by the other made him nervous as hell.

They truly care for her, don't they? Isip nya, Look, Even Kodie and Clayton too.

Well hindi naman talaga kataka-taka kung bakit. Caitlyn is very kindhearted, innocent and thoughtful, someone you'd never see in this hell hole they call Omega High Academy. So that is why those people around her protect her from the bad guys who wanted to take and break her innocence away.

"So balik na tayo kay Zoe." Biglang pahayag ni Clarisse, and Zoe groaned irritatedly.

"Seriously?!" She shouted and everyone started laughing and snickering again.

"Yes, seriously." Zein nodded her head, a triumph smirk on her face.

"I told you it's not that funny!" Zoe almost sounds like she's whining.

"Kung hindi nakakatawa, bakit pati si Caitlyn tumatawa?" Nakangising puna ni Tyler at napunta naman sa kay Caitlyn ang atensyon. Agad na nawala ang ngiti sa kanyang mga labi at napalitan ng pamumula ng mukha.

"H-huh...?!" She blushed furiously and the others chuckled at her cute and totally adorable antics.

"Caitlyn, hindi naman nakakatawa yung nangyari saakin... Diba?" Nguso ni Zoe atsaka nag-puppy dog eyes. Kunwari namang nasusuka si Clarisse at Krista na kinatawa ng iba.

"Tch. Zoe, don't you dare teach her how to lie." Freia clicked her tongue, a hidden mischievous smirk on her face.

"Dibaaaaa?!" Zoe pleaded more.

Caitlyn shifted from where she's seating, "I-i think it's really funny, Zoe..." She mumbled quietly, but her voice was loud enough since they're in an abandoned clinic.

There was a defeaning silence...

And a roar of laughter.

"Hahahaha!"

"S-see?! She thinks it's funny!!!"

"Pfft--! In your face, Zoe!!"

The abandoned clinic doesn't feel so abandoned anymore, thanks to the cheerful and happy laughter.

Napabuntong hininga nalang si Zoe, "Fine... If Caitlyn thinks it's funny. Then it's funny!" And nakitawa na rin sya sa iba, na mas lalong ikinatawa ng lahat. Everyone is now howling with laughter while clutching their stomachs, some are wiping tears from too much laughing and some are trying to hide their smiles by poker face and that someone is none other than Zen and Freia, but amusement and joy can be seen clearly in their eyes.

Tumigil si Caitlyn sa pagtawa at minasdan ang mga taong nakapalibot sakanya.

I couldn't be more happier... She sighed, happiness and pure contentment swelling in her heart. I'm so glad they are the one's who's here... And I know they're doing this to help me divert my attention from the Phantoms, and I'm very thankful... She felt tears collect in the brim of her eyes.

Tyler noticed and immediately stopped laughing, "Ayos ka lang, Caitlyn?" Medyo nag-aalala nitong tanong at agad naman natigilan yung iba at tumingin sakanya, halos iisang emosyon lamang ang makikita sa mga mata nila.

Pag-aalala...

"N-no, I'm fine."Caitlyn wiped the tears on the corner of her eyes and smiled brightly at her new circle of friends, as they all sighed in relief. "Thank you guys... Thank you for sharing this happiness and laughter with me." She continued.

They can feel her, she's so sincere and so genuine. They've never seen someone so true for a long time... And it only made their desire to protect her, spoken or unspoken, stronger than before and fiercer than before.

A strong will to protect the innocent and pure Caitlyn.
