"Wait - I'm sorry, you're going to have to tell me that again, and slower," I told Simon, my mind not being able to comprehend what he had just told me. A week had passed since Eloise had left, and life was pretty normal, all things considered.

"I said, can you text Sophie and tell her I'm up to talk, if she is," he repeated. Now you could see my shock was justified. It had been very out of the blue...the last time we had talked about Sophie had been where he had told me he didn't know what was going to happen. I had put it to rest after that.

"You're being serious? You'd really be up for that?" I asked, trying not to get my hopes up too much.

"Yeah, I'm being serious," he told me, rolling over to lie on his back, facing the ceiling in his room.

"Then yeah, of course I'll text her. I'll text her right now," I assure him, getting out my phone and writing out a message.

Hey Soph, so Simon wants to know if you and him could talk? He just told me this morning, let me know if we can work something out x

I was surprised at how fast she had seen it, because she was already typing back.

"Well, she's seen it," I tell him. He was still looking at the ceiling, a distraction maybe.

Hey, T. Nice to hear from you. I'd be up for it, you guys could come up if you wanted? I can't really come down, studio days would get in the way. Let me know what days you're free for x

I mean we're free all this week, next week we start to get pretty busy x

I'm free this week until Saturday. Let me know x

How does Friday sound? x

Sounds perfect, I'll text you the address  x

See you then! x

"Hey, Simon.." I tell him, barely able to keep the grin off of my face.

"Oh no...what did she say?"

"She said she'd be up for a talk, and I said we were free this week, so we're travelling up to Manchester on Friday," I tell him. His eyes light up, and he sits up immediately.

"You're being for real? She actually wants to talk? And we're going up this week?"

"That's if you want to," I tell him, breaking out into a smile as he nodded his head furiously. "Can I ask? Why did you decide to talk to her? It just seems all of a sudden," I ask him.

"Honestly? Eloise leaving Vik to go to America made me realise that communication is key...without communication that's when relationships fail, so I figured the only way to mend mine and Sophie's was to talk, which is why I asked you to text her."

"Well, I'm glad you and I communicate well," I said, slowly. Although with hindsight, I had spoken way too soon.

"Simon? Come on, I told Sophie we'd be there at two, at this rate we're going to be super late," I warned him, calling up the stairs from down in the lobby. It was approaching quarter to nine, now, much later than leaving at eight, which we had agreed on yesterday.

"I'm coming! I just had to upload a video and it was taking too long!" he told me, his laptop in his arms. He looked dishevelled, and unorganised.
