"Pssst! Simon! Wake up! It's Christmas!" I elbow him in the sides - gently, of course, and he starts to wake up, rubbing his eyes and complaining about the time.

"Nuh uh - you do not get to be moody on Christmas. This is a happy day, be happy. Breakfast is at nine, I let you sleep in until half past, now let's go!" I say, jumping out of bed. Of course, I've been ready since half seven, already dressed and with my makeup on.

"Give me ten minutes!" I hear him yell from the bedroom, smiling to myself. We ended up sharing with Tobi and his girlfriend, Isobel, although we had headed to bed early last night.

I walk into the kitchen, noticing Isobel is on the sofa, on her phone.

"Is Tobi not up yet either?" I ask, a grin on my face, sitting down next to her.

"Nope, not yet. He's in bed, but I think he's just calling his family to wish them a happy Christmas, he should be out soon...what about Simon?"

"He's being a moody little shit and not wanting to get out of bed, although I do think he's getting out now, after I told him today was a happy day," I laugh, opening up my phone, and smiling when I see a couple of texts from Angele, Mum and Dad.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS T!!!!!!!!!!!! MISS YOU XXXX

Happy Christmas Angele!!!!! Love and miss you so much!!!! XXXXXX

How is it in Manchester? I'm so jealous!!!

It's really good!! Simon is still half asleep lol, we're supposed to be going for breakfast soon

Wish him a happy christmas from me, I'll talk to you soon xxx

I shut it off, looking back up at Isobel. I caught her staring at the ring on my finger, the gift I received yesterday from Simon.

"Is that a new ring? I swear I haven't seen you wear that one before!"

"Simon got it for me, he gave it to me yesterday...I kind of feel bad because I didn't get him anything, but he didn't tell me he was getting it for me! I guess I'll just be extra affectionate today, I know he likes that," I say with a smile, thinking about how he always smiles more when I go to hug him , or say something positive about him...I have a sneaking suspicion he has the constant need for validation, and of course I am more than happy to give it to him.

"I love it! It's super pretty! What does it say on it, if you don't mind me asking?" She asks sweetly.

"Oh! Of course, yeah. It says my name on it, he got it from Pandora, which is literally my favourite shop ever...I even asked Freya and Angele if he asked for help but no, apparently he did it all on his own, I'm very impressed," I tell her truthfully.

"Now that is impressive...me and Tobi really did decide on no gifts...besides it's only been a couple of months," she chuckled, running fingers through her hair.

"Well, if you put it that way then me and Simon have been together a month...unless you count the before which we really shouldn't...although I have known him since the beginning of the year so I guess that counts...it doesn't really matter how long you've been together, though...it's what you do with that time that matters," I say, before I hear my name being called by Simon from the bedroom.

"If Tobi's ready, and we're not, just go without us, we'll catch up with you after," I say to her quickly, apologising and then darting into the bedroom.

"Simon? What's wrong? Where are- oh!" I say, startled at the sudden noise from behind the door.

And there's Simon, dressed head to toe in a Santa Claus outfit.

"What the hell are you doing?" I ask, bursting into a fit of laughter. he looked a right state...an adorable state, but a state nonetheless.

"Well, you told me how much you love Christmas, and Santa Claus, so I thought I'd dress up. You know, to make you happy," he grinned goofily, and I was taken aback by the gesture.

"You mean to tell me you went out and bought a Santa Claus outfit secretly, without me knowing then pretended to oversleep so I'd leave the room and so you could get changed and surprise me?" I asked in disbelief.

He was still stood there, still grinning. "I'm a lot smarter than you take me for, honestly. Do you like the surprise?"

"I love the surprise! But just one question, are you going to the breakfast with that on?" I asked with a laugh, bringing him in for a hug.

"Well, I actually had other plans, you know...instead of breakfast," he replied suggestively, causing my eyes to open in surprise.

"Simon Minter! Your friends are outside and you sister has a key to this apartment! That is a dangerous idea! Count me in!" I giggle, pressing my lips against his, not wanting to detach them at all, and I have a feeling that they are going to stay there for a while.

"Well, I think we missed the breakfast," Simon laughed, breathlessly as he lay back on our bed, the Santa Claus outfit discarded on the floor.

"I think we definitely missed breakfast, and now my makeup's ruined too, I don't have time to redo it, so I'm going to have to look natural on Christmas!" I moan, but secretly I'm not really that bothered.

"Hey! You know I love your makeup, right? But you look equally - if not more beautiful with no makeup. I hope you know that."

"I do know that. I just feel better about myself with makeup on, you know? But I appreciate you saying that, I really do. Love you," I smile, kissing him once more before putting on one of his shirts that is resting on the arm of a chair and walking towards the bathroom.

"You should probably get dressed in normal clothes. We do actually have to make an appearance at Christmas today, it's the whole reason we came up to Manchester," I said with a roll of my eyes.

"I'm getting up! I promise!" I hear him call back, but now I'm in the bathroom, and staring at the mess of my face in the mirror. MY hair is everywhere, and my makeup is very smudged, and it's very obvious as to what has just happened, something I need to fix as soon as possible.

I wipe all my makeup off, fixing my hair. The next time I look in the mirror, I'm a lot happier with how I look.

I walk out of the bathroom, seeing Simon putting on some actual trousers, not shorts, or tracksuits. It's definitely a change.

"Look at you getting all dressed up," I smirk, ruffling through my own suitcase to find something to wear today.

"Like the words of the famous Talia Mar, it's Christmas!" I hear him tease, and although he can't see me, I'm rolling my eyes at his words.

"Thank you for making an effort, though, seriously. I love Christmas," I laugh, whilst picking out an outfit.

"I know you do. And I'm starting to love it too," he grinned, and I think that's quite possibly the best thing that's come out of his mouth for a while.
