TWENTY FOURTH OF DECEMBER, 2017
"I knew we should've left earlier! We are the most disorganised group of people!" I said to Simon, stressed and frustrated at half six in the morning. Sophie had managed to book us a coach, for all of us to go on up to Manchester. It was cheaper than flying, but it also meant we were all on one vehicle rather than travelling up separately.
"Hey, Tee, calm down...Freya and Josh are already on the coach, Vik is on the coach, El is kicking JJ's ass to hurry up and get ready, Tobi and Isobel are just parking their car, and Ethan and Emily are on their way. We'll be out of here no later than seven, it'll be okay," he reassured me, and his words brought me a little bit of comfort.
"I suppose we better get on the coach, right? Let's go," I spoke, holding my hand out for him to take. Our bags were already on the vehicle, all that was needed was for us to be on it. We passed El shouting up the stairs, presumably to JJ.
"We're going to get on the coach now...see you in a bit," I heard Simon tell her.
Our coach driver was a friendly looking woman, and luckily enough the coach had heating. It was the middle of December, meaning it was disgustingly cold. Twenty four seven goosebumps cold.
I made myself comfortable in the seat next to the window, my blanket comfortably wrapped around me. I felt Simon slide in next to me, his fingers intertwining with my own. In front of me I saw JJ and Elouise finally get on the bus, now all we were waiting for were Tobi and Isobel.
"How are you feeling? About seeing Sophie and Harry again, I mean?" I ask Simon, leaning my head on his shoulder.
"Honestly, I'm feeling fine. We sorted everything out, and we're good again...I'm not sure if we'll ever be as good as we once were, but there's no tension or anything...I'm grateful you encouraged me to fix things with her. I've been phoning her once a week since," he tells me, and I feel genuinely proud of him. He put his stubbornness aside and it worked out for the best.
I pulled myself away from our conversation when there was noise at the front of the coach, Tobi and Isobel were finally here. Tobi met my eyes and smiled.
"Better late than never, right, Talia?" He smirked, taking his seat towards the front.
"At least you're not last," I call back, earning laughs from all around the coach.
"About that, Ethan just text and told me to tell you that they've literally just pulled up, they're coming right now," Simon tells me, typing a quick reply back. At least everyone was here now.
They finally got on the bus, and we took the piss out of them for a while before they settled and we were eventually off.
The coach was full of chatter for the first twenty odd minutes, before we all seemed to realise how long this journey was actually going to take. Laptops were out, and various amounts of editing were being done. Simon was the same, from over his shoulder I could tell that he was editing a second channel video...he had started to shift his focus to that now, he was still posting lots on his main channel, but the second channel was creeping up too...
I hadn't recorded a video in a while, so I didn't actually have anything to edit. I had kind of...lost motivation...instead of filming I had been streaming, something I enjoyed so much more. I was really only posting on YouTube for my viewers, maybe I just needed to fall back in love with filming. It was a work in progress, anyway.
