"you look a bit tired, have you been sleeping lately?" the interviewer asks and i smile softly, tearing up at her concern.
"smile more. stop looking so sad." my manager whispers and i quickly wipe the tears away before answering the question.
"lately it's been hard."
"that's okay." she reassures me, "sometimes the most beautiful stories are written by the saddest people."
"i don't want to be modern art." i shake my head and she sighs.
"you're always so kind to people." she smiles softly, tearing up a bit.
"i've only got half a heart to give." i shrug.
the main reason i'm so nice is because i've always been chosen last. i've always been left behind.
i feel that if i'm kind to people then they'll stay. although i've been wrong every single time, i don't want to change in case i'm right at some point.
my happy ending is coming.
one day i'll be a priority, rather than an option.
