"how are you feeling since being back?" the interviewer asks me.

"i'm sick of losing soulmates..." i sigh. "where do we begin?"

"you seem to be going through a lot recently." her voice is soft and she sounds sorry for me. "it's almost as if life is a game and you're losing."

"how do we win?" i shake my head. "i'm so sick of losing soulmates. i won't be alone again. i can finally see you're as fucked up as me, so how do we win?"

"i'm sorry, i don't think i understand?" she questions my response and i just stare at the floor.

"she hasn't gotten much sleep since the breakup. i'm so sorry." my manager apologizes.

"are you and harry still friends?" she asks but i can't take my eyes off of the floor. "maryah?" she attempts to get my attention.

"maryah answer the question." my manager whispers and i shake my head.

"we will grow old as friends." i try to swallow the lump in my throat. "i've promised that before, so what's one more in our gray haired circle waiting for the end?"

"that's all she has time for." my manager grabs my arm and pulls me out of my chair.

"alright. i hope you feel better." the interviewer smiles at me and i nod.
