Only a few hours later, Aurelia was woken up by the frantic shouts of the campers outside the tent. She ignored the throbbing in her skull and got up from her cot, grabbing her handgun and worryingly imagining all sorts of scenarios of what could have happened. She ran out of her tent and bumped into Harper, who was staring off into the sky.
"What happened?" The McKinley girl questioned, looking across camp to find other campers staring into the sky and whispering in a frantic manner. Aura looked over at the other girl, seeing a look of worry on her face.
"The Exodus ship.." The girl trailed off. "It launched but something went wrong. It didn't deploy any parachutes like Raven's pod and it crashed." Aurelia's heart sank.
"Why isn't anyone leaving? We have guns now."
"Neither Bellamy or Clarke are here so we're waiting."
"What?" Aura quickly scanned the group, trying to locate the leaders. Not only were they missing, but so were Octavia, Finn and Jasper. "What have those idiots done now." She muttered under her breath. In the back of her mind, Aurelia knew that nothing good would happen when those five are involved, especially when she isn't there to make sure they're being rational.
Suddenly the gates opened, revealing the frustrating five. Aura marched up to the eldest Blake, jabbing a finger into his chest. "Where the hell did you go?" He sighed and grabbed her hand.
"Knock it off Aurelia." He walked away from her and to the center of the camp. "Listen up! You all probably saw or heard what happened to the Exodus ship. I'm assembling a group to go check out the crash site, so if you want to go, meet me by the gate. I will, however, need at least half of you to stay back to protect the camp. Got it?" Everyone nodded. "Okay. I'll give you ten minutes."
He walked back over to Aura, who was still staring daggers at him. "You better explain yourself once you're back Bellamy Blake." He raised his eyebrow at her.
"You're not coming?"
She shrugged at him. "Somebody has to hold down the fort." He just stared at her as if she was joking. "Also my head is throbbing." Bellamy chuckled and patted her on the head.
"Aww little Aurelia is experiencing her first hangover! How cute." Aura swatted his hand away from her head, which only made him laugh even more. "Drink some water and you'll be fine."
She saluted him. "Aye aye captain." With that she walked off, grabbing a rifle from the nearest table so she can take up her guard post.
