The raven haired girl fell to the floor with a grunt, her back impacting hard with the training mat. “That’s not fair Octavia.” Aura whined, as the younger girl let out a laugh and extended a hand towards the girl.

“Grounders won’t wait for you to get ready Aura, you know that.” Aurelia let out a gruntled sigh as she let the Blake girl pull her to her feet.

“Your reflexes are getting better Aurelia, i’m impressed.” Lincoln praises, standing against the far wall with his arms crossed, watching as the two girls sparred. “But you need to stop hesitating.” Aura quickly dodged as Octavia threw a punch towards her.

“Maybe..” she grunted out, blocking a fist flying towards her again, “..my sparring partner is a bit too advanced for me.”

“I believe in you Aura.” Lincoln states, observing the girl’s moves across the floor. “You’ve picked this up almost as quickly as Octavia.”

“Woah,” The older girl exclaims, almost getting her legs sweeped out from beneath her. “Chill Tavia.”

“If you wanted a partner who would go easy on you, you should have asked Bell.”

“Hey! What does that mean?” Aura asks in surprise, narrowly dodging her fist again.

“I mean that my brother is well and truly whipped.” Aura stepped back and paused for a moment, looking between Lincoln and Octavia.

“Does he really go easy on me?” Lincoln lets a smile slip as he nods at her.

“Why do you think I keep pairing you up with Octavia?” Aura suddenly threw a punch, just about managing to hit the other girl in the face.

“Oh no, I'm so-” Octavia quickly recovers and ducks, sweeping her leg and sending Aurelia to the floor again.

“Don’t. Drop. Your. Guard.” Octavia warns again, helping the girl back to her feet. “And stop apologising.”

“I think we’ll call it a day.” Lincoln suggests, chucking a small bottle of water each towards both girls. “Good progress today Aurelia, I'd give it a week or two before you can spar with me.”

Aura gapes at him. “Linc, you would destroy me. You’re a born and raised grounder warrior.”

“So?” he shrugs. “I’m training you to fight like a grounder warrior. You’ve pretty much mastered the ability to use a bow, so you just need to get better with hand to hand combat so you’ll be able to fight anyone.”

Aura takes a swig of her water before turning towards Octavia. “I’ll beat you one day Tavia, just watch me.”

“I’ll be waiting right here.” She responds with a laugh, amused by the newfound friendly competition.

After taking a quick shower, Aurelia made her way outside, realising it had gotten pretty dark whilst she was training. She walked over to her regular stargazing spot, where Bellamy was already waiting for her with a large blanket draped over his shoulders. “Hey Bubba,” she greeted, settling down next to the boy. (*Cue author screeching*)

“Hey Bambi,” he responded with a large smile, opening up the blanket in order to wrap it around the girl. “How was your day today?”

“It was okay, I was fairly happy today.” She rested her head against his shoulder, tilting her head slightly to look up towards the clear sky. “I had another go on the bike with Raven and then trained with Octavia. Speaking of..” she says lifting her head up to look at the boy. “Do you really go easy on me?”

“Umm.. nooo?” he says unconvincingly with a small, cheeky smile. “Maybe a little,” he says, watching the different expressions morph on Aura’s face.

“Bell!” she exclaims, not impressed by this revelation. “How am I supposed to get better if you’re letting me win.”

“I can’t help it Bambi. You look so cute every time you manage to beat me.” She pouts at him, causing him to chuckle and pull her tight against his chest.

Aurelia has a regular routine with Jasper in order to lift some emotional baggage from the boy, but she also has a regular routine with Bellamy, so that he could try to lift some of her emotional baggage. Her period of radio silence the days after the tragedy had really scared Bellamy, and so he made Aurelia promise that she would always talk to him if she ever felt like locking herself away again.

And so, every evening the two would sit together under stars, with Aurelia giving him a small update about how she felt during that day. She wasn’t sure when she started treating Bellamy like a human diary, but it did help. Some days she would feel more down than others, and so Bellamy would ask if she wanted him to distract her with random stories about the stars in the sky, or if she just wanted to talk about what she was feeling.

Aurelia wouldn’t say she had recovered. Not even close. Sometimes she would break down into tears completely randomly, and sometimes she would go several days barely speaking to anyone. But she was starting to see some light in her life.

After two months, she was starting to go longer and longer without random negative thoughts plaguing her mind, and the nightmares were less frequent now that Bellamy had practically moved into her room, making sure to always wake her up if she showed signs of having a bad dream. She was starting to smile more and more around people, even going as far as genuinely laughing at people’s jokes.

She only wishes she could say the same for Jasper, but unfortunately the boy is a lot more stubborn than Aurelia in terms of talking about his feelings. Instead, the boy just chooses to drink them away. Aurelia doesn’t know how to help him other than just spending time with him. She couldn’t even imagine what he’s going through. Sure, Aurelia had lost someone she was starting form a close bond with, but Jasper had lost someone he was falling in love with, and not only did she die in his arms, it was indirectly caused by someone who had been his best friend since childhood. Aura doesn't know how she would have reacted in that situation.

She sighed softly, her head still pressed against Bellamy’s chest, the soft beating of his heart keeping her there in the moment. Who knew how long this peace would last for. With their track record, not very long.

Ten votes and I'll post again tomorrow because I have no self control

I hope this a good way for her to somewhat deal with her trauma. Fortunately I've never gotten to that point so it's all guesswork from my end.
