It has already been close to a week since Aurelia first woke up in the village, and she has been out of her mind worrying about the situation back home at Arkadia. She wanted to let them know that she was alright, but it’s not like she could ask someone to deliver a message. After the slaughter of their people, she’s thankful that Semet hasn’t kicked her out, or worse, killed her for real.

She had been bed-ridden the first few days and so had taken it upon herself to learn basic herbal medicine from Avalon. Eventually, the village healer allowed her to limp around, provided she used a long wooden stick as a crutch to take weight off her leg.

Currently, the girl was lying down on the soft grass on the outskirts of the village, admiring the night sky. It was the closest to normalcy she could get, and so she spent as much of her time as possible just staring at the various constellations.

A small movement in the corner of her eye caused her to look to the side, and she found a young boy staring at her curiously. “Hello Gavriel.” the girl greeted him with a smile, “Did your mother send you to get me?” The boy shook his head shyly, as he continued to stare at the girl. “Come here.” Aura says softly, patting the floor beside her. Gavriel contemplated her words for a few moments, before walking over and lying down next to the girl, his eyes cast towards the stars in the sky.

“Someone very special to me likes to tell me stories about the stars. I could tell you about them if you like.” Aurelia offered.

Yes please.” Gavriel finally spoke, still admiring the way the stars twinkled in the sky.

“Okay, so these three stars in a line are called Orion’s Belt, and they’re part of a constellation called Orion the Hunter…”

When Avalon finally found her son and Aurelia, they were still pointing at the stars and talking amongst themselves.

Gavriel, time for dinner,” the woman called, causing the boy to quickly sit up. He leaned down to give Aura a quick hug, before scampering away towards his home. Avalon walked closer to the girl who was laying down and found that her eyes were welled up with tears.

“What’s wrong Aurelia?” Avalon questions in concern, “Is it your leg? Do I need to-”

“No no, I’m okay,” the girl responds, wiping away her tears with the back of her hand and trying to smile through her tears.
