Numb. That's how Bellamy Blake felt as he sat at the memorial service for the lives that had been lost at Mount Weather. Truthfully, he didn’t want to be here. It was a painful reminder as to what had happened under his watch.

"Sinclair and I are the only ones left," cried out Raven over the radio.

In that moment, Bellamy's entire body froze, and his heart shattered into a million pieces. The blood pumping loudly through his ears prevented him from hearing the commotion from all around him. He almost didn't even register the feeling of someone's hand gripping onto his shoulder as he stared off into space, praying that his ears were playing tricks on him.

Bellamy could just about hear his sister's voice from beside him, but he couldn't make out the words that were leaving her mouth. He pulled away from her grip and took a couple steps to leave the room, but the heartbroken boy's legs gave out from beneath him, sending him crashing to his knees as a strangled sob escaped from the boy. Octavia fell down beside the boy and pulled him into her arms, but the boy's arms stayed limp beside the side of his body. He felt like he couldn’t breath. Aurelia was gone.

"Bellamy?" The boy snapped out of his trance, realising that Kane had called his name and that everyone's eyes were on him. Slowly, he stood up and walked towards the front of the room, his hands tightly gripping onto the now fixed necklace. He refused to look up, and instead his eyes remained fixed on the tag, his fingers slowly moving over the engraved name.

"Um." He cleared his throat slightly. "Aurelia was.." He could feel his throat closing up again, but he swallowed harshly, attempting to push through. "Aurelia was the best thing to ever happen to me. I didn't deserve her, yet she still chose to be by my side. I-" he sniffled slightly as tears welled up in his eyes. "I love her and I-" his voice started to wobble slightly as he spoke. "I never even had the chance to tell her that… I think she knew anyway."

He wanted to say more. He could go on forever about how she made him happy, or how much he loved her playful nature and sassy remarks, or how he thought she deserved so much better, but he couldn't find the strength to utter any more words out loud. He lifted his right arm slightly and dangled the necklace over the table, intending to place it next to the various other memorabilia. After a few moments he retracted his arm, choosing to not part with it. He lifted the chain over his head and let the tag lay against his chest, wanting to keep it close to his heart.

This was the first time the older Blake was sitting under the stars without Aurelia, and it wasn’t the same. It made him feel worse, but he couldn’t bring himself to move away. He saw a figure move towards him out the corner of his eye, but he didn’t move to acknowledge who it was.
