When her eyes opened, all Aurelia could see was white. She sat up quickly, looking around and realising all the walls were a blinding white, with only a painting mounted on the right wall. The bed she was sitting on was incredibly soft, probably why she felt well rested.

Then it suddenly came back to her. The gas cylinders. The strange red smoke. The men in hazmat suits pointing green lasers at her.

She leaped out of the bed, running towards the also white door and aggressively pushing the door handle to try and escape. Her efforts were futile, and so she resorted to punching the tiny circular glass window.

"Ouch." she hissed in pain, retracting her right fist away from the window and massaging it with her other hand. The window stayed intact, showing no signs of breaking.

The girl sighed, turning around to finally take a proper look around the room. It was minimalistic. Aside from the bed, bedside table, tiny sink and the lone painting on the wall, there was nothing. Whoever was holding her here probably knew she'd try and fight back.

The girl walked over to admire the painting, which had brilliant shades of emerald green and blue. It appeared to be a scenic painting of a lake surrounded by trees, which was reflecting the beautiful shades of colour in the sky.

"An Aurora Borealis." She murmured to herself in realisation. On the Ark she had witnessed the aurora on a few occasions, but she had only ever seen it from the earth's perspective in textbooks.

The sound of heavy footsteps drew her eyes towards the door. Aura quietly moved towards the door, pressing herself flat against the wall. The footsteps stopped outside her door, and the lock clicked, before the handle pushed down and the door opened. A tall guard walked into the room, his eyes sweeping around to find the girl. Before his eyes fell on her, she jumped on his back, wrapping her arm around his neck and squeezing. Not hard enough to knock him out, but hard enough to show she wasn't playing around.

"Hey, hey chill Aurelia." The man groaned out, feeling pressure against his throat as he tried to pull her arm away. The girl frowned at the use of her name.

"How the hell do you know my name?" She hissed, tightening her grip. "Who are you? Where am-"

She let out a surprised noise when he flipped her over his shoulder and onto the bed, winding the girl and causing her to take in deep breaths.

As she looked up, a figure stepped into her vision, upside down due to the way she was laying. He had messy brown hair, but it was his bright blue that caught her attention. She quickly sat up, scooting away from the guy who only chuckled at her movements.
