(3rd Person POV)
Yang stood, welcoming students who came into the hall. As she was one of the main ones who set it up, she felt a certain sense of pride and need for it to go well. She wore a white dress with black heels, and stood at a podium.
The doors opened up to reveal Ruby, struggling to walk in her high-heels. A smile grew on Yang's face as Ruby walked through the door.
Yang: Ooohh, you look beautiful!
Ruby groaned as she looked distressed in her red and black dress.
Ruby: Can we have a serious talk about how Weiss fights in these?
She tried to maintain her balance as she walked to the podium, much to her laughing sister's amusement.
(Your POV)
Outside, you and Edel were trying to not laugh at Sun's new look. He was struggling with his black shirt. He tried to fight with his tie, claiming it was too tight.
Sun: Stupid... dumb... neck trap!
Blake: I knew you'd look better in a tie.
Sun stopped his struggling and stared at the dark purple dress worn by Blake, now looking like she traded her dark bags for violet eyeshadow, as she stepped forward and took him by the arm.
Sun: So, does this mean we're going... together?
Blake: Technically, though my first dance is spoken for.
Edel: You know Sun, I think Blake would've liked it better if you didn't have to wear the giant gloves.
Sun: You and (Y/N) wore gloves.
You looked down at yourself, fixing your tie. You had the same clothes that Edel gave you, but when you showed up, he pulled out red black gloves and gave them to you.
He insisted that they put the entire outfit together, and you shrugged it off. He went to many of these parties, he would know before you would.
(Y/N): Yeah, but they don't go halfway up my arm.
Sun relented, letting himself and Blake walk to the dance.
You looked over at Neptune, who looked slightly nervous. He wore a black suit with orange linings and an orange bowtie with a white undershirt. He kept his goggles which you thought was an odd choice, but he never seemed to take them off.
Edel: What happened to you?
Neptune: Oh nothing...
Edel: Did Weiss chicken out?
(Y/N): What's going on?
Neptune: How do you know about that?
Edel: She asked me how to impress you. I told her to not bother, but she didn't listen.
Neptune: Eh, I'm sure she's fine.
Edel: She came to my room and cried for like ten minutes, and then we just sat there in silence for an hour. I was tired.
Neptune looked embarrassed, rubbing the back of his head.
Neptune: Well what about you (Y/N)?
(Y/N): What?
Edel: You and Ruby.
(Y/N): I just met her a few months ago. I'll take my time, thanks.
Edel: You poor soul.
(Y/N): It's not my fault. I like her, I'm fairly certain she likes me, but I don't want to rush things.
Edel: Oh...
