16. Meeting outside the school

I agreed in science that I would meet Billy outside school so that we could then walk to the hospital together. He said it wasn't that far from his house and his sisters would be there so that they could take us both home later. This was certainly a busy Tuesday! For both of us.

Billy had started to be a lot more nicer as well. He was nice to the teachers and to the other kids in our year that he use to bully. He did however hang out with me and my friends more and believe it or not, he and Alex had a long talk about the earth. It was really sciencey and Daisy and I couldn't believe it. Billy was really smart. He also insisted that for some sort of reason whenever we're walking we hold hands. Not all four of us, just me and him. I don't and haven't objected. I don't mind if I'm honest. It's nice to hold hands.

"Minty!" A slightly deep voice called. I knew who it was. I turned with a grin to see Billy walking towards me with his bag over his shoulders. He smiled at me and stopped in front of me. I held out my hand and he took it a little nervously. I smiled at our hands and then swung them side to side a little happily.
"Aww look at that! Beauty and the beast!" a voice from over the road called. Billy and I looked over to see a group of older kids stood on the corner together.
"No wait, it's Billy and the beast!" another kid, this time a girl, yelled and the whole group of them laughed. I looked down not really bothered by them but Billy wasn't happy.

He let go of my hand and looked at them angrily.
"Leave her alone ya big bullies!" He yelled and I placed a hand on his hand and looked up at him begging him to stop.
"Ignore them Billy," I said and he looked down at me as if I was nuts.
"Why should I Minty?! You haven't done anything wrong and their bullying you!" He said loudly at me and I shook my head.
"Some people just bully for no reason, and let's not let them ruin our nice day." I replied and took his hand again.

Billy let out a sharp breath and looked down at our hands. He then looked at me again with a slight redness in his cheeks. He's probably just cold, right?
"Your right Minty," Billy said swinging our hands like I did before. We stood there smiling at each other for a few seconds longer before we set off walking for the hospital. Well, that's what we were going to do, but an Italian voice stopped us.

"Minty!" It yelled. I swung around, sadly breaking my hand from Billy's, to see Marzia and Felix walking towards us! Yippie! I haven't seen them for what feels like ages to me. How then heck can that be? I've only known them for a couple of days? Oh well, I'm not complaining about Marzia bending down to hug me in front of Billy. I hugged her back of course liking the warmth of the hug.
"Hi Marzia," I said as she pulled away. Felix then crouched to my level with a smile.
"You okay Minty?" He asked and I nodded.
"Me and Billy are just going to see his mom," I replied and Felix nodded before turning to Billy.

"So this is Billy," he said almost seriously. Billy looked at him a little wide eyed. Felix held out his hand.
"Felix Kjellberg." Felix introduced himself and I frowned at his surname. It's a little hard to say in my opinion. Billy however took his hand and shook it.
"Billy Quint." Billy replied releasing Felix's hand. "Nice to meet you sir," he said and I almost laughed at Billy calling Felix sir. Come on Billy, it's not like he's my dad, I thought. I heard Marzia laughed and she crouched tucking some of her loose strands of reddish brown hair behind her ear.
"Hi Billy, I'm Marzia." she said holding out her hand. Billy shook it a little more warmly.
"Nice to meet you as well ma'am." Billy replied showing his manners. Marzia laughed at the word ma'am and I giggled a little.
"Please, call me Marzia." She said as Felix stood up to his full height. Billy nodded as he released her hand.

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked and Marzia grinned widely.
"We have something to tell you Minty." She said with a soft voice.
"Something really important." Felix added. I looked at Billy then to them with my lip bitten.
"Could, could it maybe wait for a couple of hours?" I asked. Marzia frowned and so did Felix.
"Why, what do you need to do Minty?" Marzia asked me.
"Billy's mom is in hospital and I promised him that I'd go to the hospital with him to visit her." I said to them. Felix looked at me with a frown and held up his hands.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa." He began, flailing his hands a little. What's wrong now? I wondered.
