After the little crazy incident locating Peanuts I picked up Minty and her bag and Peanuts in his carrier then walked out of the train station with Marzia at my side. The large clock near the exit said it was past ten.

Little Minty obviously wasn't use to staying up late because she fell asleep within seconds.
"Is she asleep?" Marzia asked me and I nodded with Minty's head on my shoulder.
"Jet lag has got to her." I told Marzia and she chuckled.

Outside the train station it was raining and had a cloudy sky that hid the stars. The odd person clutching an umbrella while angrily fighting against the whirling wind and water droplets from the sky.

"Taxi!" Marzia yelled out and a middle aged man sat in the front of a black taxi waved telling us he was free. Marzia opened the door then got in with our bags. I handed her Minty's bag and Peanuts' carrier to put into the taxi then I got in holding Minty in my arms.

Marzia told the driver where to go, which was our house, then she buckled her seat belt. I did the same but I pulled a strange focused face while I did because I didn't want to wake Minty. However after I heard a mysterious, and cheeky, giggle and Minty looked up grinning.

"And when did you wake up?" I asked her raising an eyebrow with a silly voice that made her giggle more.
"I've been awake for ages." she told me and I shook my head.
"Minty that's deceitful, you should have told us you were awake." Marzia said scolding Minty slightly.

The little ginger girl looked over to her mom with a sad expression.
"I'm sorry mom." Minty said and she nodded accepting her apology.
"She didn't mean it Marzia, she did fall asleep right after I picked her up again." I told Marzia who was pursing her lips and frowning slightly.

She looked over at Minty and made a playfully serious face.
"Okay, I'll let you off this once." She said and ruffled Minty's hair a little. Minty giggled and yawned again.
"Dad I'm tired." she told me and I nodded.
"We'll be home soon." I told her and she then cuddled close to me.

The car started to move away from the station and I looked out the window. There were only a couple of cars going up and down the main road we drove down. The streets were quiet and lit up by the street lamps. I watched the small semi-detached houses and large Victorian style houses go past us for over 15 minutes until a familiar street came into view.

"We're home now Mintypie!" Marzia told happily to Minty who was still awake but was looking sleepy as ever.
"That'll be six pounds please." the driver said and I dug my wallet out of my pocket and payed him. Marzia then got out holding mine and hers bags and I followed holding Minty's hand, her bag and Peanuts in his carrier.

"He's getting heavier!" I exclaimed pretending it was heavy and Minty laughed.
"No he's not!" She said and I laughed as well. We soon got to the front door and Minty looked up at our house with a big smile.
"Welcome home Mintypie." I said and Marzia unlocked the door cheering happily, 'yay'. Minty giggled as Marzia opened the front door and I immediately heard barking.
