~Marzia~
"Hi everyone! It's Christmas Eve! I have some big news for you all!" I began clapping my hands together and held them up beside my head that had a Santa hat on it, still holding them together. I was sat on a chair in the dining room with Billy and Clint's tank and our small but pretty and sweetly decorated Christmas in the background and in front of the camera. When I spoke my first line I took a deep breath and looked away from the camera to Minty who was wearing a small Santa hat on her head too.
"Come here, come here," I beckoned with my hand to her and she darted over holding the picture of her sibling close to her in her little hands. I picked her up by putting her hands under her arms and lifted her to sit on my knees.
"Felix?" I called looking left over my shoulder to the door to the kitchen. Minty's giggles filled the room and I shook my head letting an open mouth smile break out on my face as Felix did a rolley-polley into the room yelping once as he did. Minty laughed more when he did it again and I laughed too glancing up at the camera to see if it caught him doing his second rolley-polley in front of us. Maya, Edgar and Peanuts all trotted in, their claws tapping against the wood. Edgar's were louder and more frequent since he bounded after Felix barking at him. As Felix turned crouching as if he he was about to do his third rolley-polley when Edgar bit onto the bottom of Felix's over-sized t-shirt and pulled on it like he was playing tug of war with it. Felix just rested on his knees holding his hands up in surrender. His Santa has was falling off his head slightly not falling off his head after his entrance completely to my surprise.
His t-shirt had writing on it and it was now on view for us to see and the camera was able to capture what it said. It said in capital letters 'WORLD'S BEST DAD' with a exclamation mark after it then it said in brackets, 'in training...'. Felix looked up at the camera and grinned.
"Oh hey there!" He said sounding surprised. "I didn't see you!" Edgar let go of his shirt and put his front paws on his legs and sniffed his shirt.
"As you can see," He chuckled his body shaking slightly while he gestured to his shirt.
"THERE'S GONNA BE ANOTHER MEMBER OF THE KJELLBERG FAMILY!" Minty shouted stretching out her little arms as far as she could holding the scan picture of the baby up show the camera and we all cheered clapping. Felix did another rolley-polley across the floor again parting the pugs into going different ways and making Minty giggle again.
"I take it then, you decided this video wasn't going to be serious!" I said to Felix between laughs as he grabbed a chair and pulled it up next to mine.
"This is good news! It shouldn't be serious it should be happy! I'm so happy I'm doing rolley-polleys!" He replied shrugging a shoulder.
"Plus I wanted an excuse to wear this amazing and obviously accurate t-shirt I got!" he added pulling the neck of the t-shirt up to gesture to the t-shirt again. He was wearing it over a quarter-length sleeved checkered shirt which made him look even more goofy. I laughed and shook my head.
"We aren't that serious in this," Felix lifted Minty off my knees and onto his and hugged her affectionately. "And you could have shown this silly t-shirt in your own video." I added tugging at the sleeve of the baby blue garment.
"Maybe we should have got this in white, people might think we are having a boy." I told him quickly looking from Felix to the camera.
"Do you know yet if it's gonna be a girl or a boy yet?" Minty asked looking between the two of them. Felix chuckled looking down at his shirt in reply to me then he pet Minty's ginger head after she spoke.
"I was just going to get to that sweetie." I replied cupping her chin for a second then I looked to the camera.
"We are going to go have a second scan to find out what we will be having in the new year and then find out what the baby's gender will be, but no we don't know what it will be yet. And Felix is already the best father in the world to Minty." I spoke a little sappy at the end smiling at them.
"He is." Minty confirmed hugged her Dad. Felix and I awed tilting our heads to her.
"Everyone says their dad is the best dad in the world. Dads that do a proper job at being a dad too." Felix sounded wise while he hugged his daughter.
"True, true, you are the best dad in the world to me." Minty replied and nodded satisfied with what she said and smiled to the camera. I awed again covering my cheeks with my hands unable to cope with the cute father-daughter moment. Felix smiled and arched his eyebrows at Minty's adorableness making his face look really silly. He made Minty stand and got up himself replacing Minty on his chair.
"Huh?" Minty frowned looking up at her dad then left when he stood back just out of the view of the camera.
She went it a fit of hissing laughter and I looked up unable to look at Felix with another open mouth smile on face because he did another rolley-polley across the floor in front of me, Minty and the camera. I put one hand on my stomach laughing more when one of his feet hit the tripod the camera was on. The whole thing shook a little and Felix cringed at the end of his rolley-polley watching the camera as it shook probably ready to catch it if it fell over. It didn't though so he huffed once in relief while Maya sat in front of him panting a little.
"So yeah, we are expecting and we're all really excited and looking forward to having our first baby, and second child in our family." I said to the camera sounding serious now but kept a smile on my face.
"Yeah, so many happy things are happening in our lives. Getting engaged, Minty, and now this," Felix rubbed my hand that was on my tummy still affectionately and smiled looking right at me.
"OOO! Also!" Minty excitedly raised her hand as if she was asking for permission to speak for a few seconds then she put it down to hold her little hands in front of her while grinning.
"We got Peanuts!" She added diverting her eyes down to her little brown pug that was now licking Felix's other hand. Felix and I chuckled lightly then nodded agreeing with Minty.
"Yeah, and we have a lot of more great things to come too. And one is about to happen soon, to you Mintypie." As Felix spoke he walked towards the other end of the dinning room towards the end of the table picking up the iPad and brought it over. Me and Minty frowned watching him and Minty even asked what.
"Hold this," He said handing her the iPad so it was landscape then he unlocked it on Skype then he made a call to a contact that I knew and smiled.
"What's this Dad?" Minty asked now resting the iPad on her lap and looked up at Felix founding. We all were looking down at the iPad when the Skype call was answered revealing Felix's parents on the other line sitting on the couch in the home in Sweden. Minty gasped jerking her head back when they appeared.
"Hello!" Felix's Mom waved with a big grin on her face. Felix's Dad was grinning too and waved looking at Felix for a second before he looked at Minty.
"Hi Mom! Hi Dad!" Felix waved back happily.
"Hi!" I waved too.
"Wait, are they my-"
"Your grandparents yeah they are." Felix replied nodding to her. Minty then had a look on her face that was just like the one I saw when she found out we were adopting her. So much happiness was in her she might burst into a happy squeal or dance because of it!
"And we can't believe we have such a beautiful grand daughter," Felix's mom smiled holding her face with her hands in admiration. "Hello Minty!" She then waved.
"Hey there little one!" Felix's Dad added waving again too.
"Hi!" Minty waved back smiling but it turned from a smile of pure happiness to one that looked a little confused when she spoke again. "I have no idea what to call you!" She shook her head laughing awkwardly once. Felix's Dad awed at Minty.
"Grandma! Just call me Grandma!" Felix's mom and Minty's grandma gushed gesturing with her hands to herself exaggerating a lot.
"And he's your grandpa, he can be grumpy sometimes." She added pointing a finger to her husband who sat to the right of her making everyone laugh louder than ever.
"You are so pretty Minty, just like your Mom." Minty blushed at her Grandma's compliment and so did I and we both thanked her. Felix tutted.
"Thanks Mom." He muttered looking away unimpressed he didn't get complimented but I heard him snicker silently while Minty laughed with her grandparents.
"Felix, it's handsome you want." Felix's Dad told his son.
"Or fabulous," I shrugged.
"True, very true," Felix nodded while Minty laughed out loud again. I got up to stop the camera from recording, still smiling while I listened to Minty talk to her Grandparents. I edited it later on after the long Skype call. She didn't want it to end. But she eventually did when we reminded her she would be seeing them soon.
