Jordan's P.O.V.
After Liam calmed down from freaking out about teleporting, we began meditating again. It was almost five and the sun was setting. We had been out here for hours. Liam had made little progress and was still trying to control wind. I had shifted earlier and went for run followed by a swim. I could no longer sit still with him; he was so slow and frustrating.
"Liam, I am going back to the manor. I am hungry, we have been out here all day. You need to take a break and eat. The elements will still be here tomorrow," I walk towards him and pull him up. I expected an argument, but to my surprise he went along with it. We walked back to the manor; we did not speak. I enjoyed the noise of the woods. We enter the edge of the woods and are about to start walking to the manor when a twig break.
Liam and I immediately let out growls. "Show yourself now," I demand. A small red wolf comes out from behind a tree nearby. "Shift at once." The red wolf goes behind a tree and shifts. I hear whimpers and decide this is a freshly shifting wolf pup. A twelve-year-old girl walks around the tree. She keeps her eyes low and she is completely nude.
I link a pack mate to bring her a blanket and meet us at the eastern entrance. Sarah, my omega, links back to alert me she is on her way. I bring my attention back to the girl standing in front of me and Liam. "What's your name and what pack to you belong to?" I ask the timid child.
She looks up at me and I see her sweet caramel eyes. She moves her red hair out of her face and looks back and forth between Liam and me. Unsure, who to answer or look at, she lowers her eyes back down and sniffles. "I-i-I'm Leah and I belong to the neighboring pack ran by Alpha Drake." Liam and I look at each other with worried looks.
I give the girl a smile and walk towards her. Leah is shivering, she is completely nude, and the wind is quite breezy tonight. Sarah arrives and I immediately wrap Leah up. I give Sarah a small nod with sad eyes. Sarah looks down and shakes her head. Leah's body is covered in scars and bruises. They are like Braven's before he healed himself.
"Leah, how about a warm bath?" I ask her and her head stays down, but she nods. My hand wraps around her small one and I start leading her back to the manor. Liam and Sarah follow behind us, no one says anything.
We get inside and I take Leah up to my room and Sarah goes to get the pack doctor. Liam follows us to my room, but he stays out of the way. I get Leah into the bathroom and run some warm water for her. Sarah comes in with some clothes and soaps for Leah to choose between. I give her some space to clean up and the pack doctor comes in to examine her wounds and treat what can be treated.
"Luna..." Grey, the pack doctor, sighs out. Grey walks towards me and I see his sad eyes. "I treated most of the open wounds and I gave her a sedative so her wolf has time to heal what I cannot. She should sleep for a few hours with no pain," he explains, and I nod, understanding. Sarah walks out of the bathroom with the little ginger girl bundled up in a towel. I can't help the smile and happiness that washes over me.
I walk to her and take Leah from her. I lay her down in my bed, she's already asleep from the sedative. Everyone leaves while I get her dressed and cover her up. I walk out and sigh. Liam is waiting for me next to the door. He looks over at me with worry in his eyes.
"We are attacking. Soon," is all I say before walking into my meditation room and closing the door. I go over to the swing hammock chair and get comfortable. I will sleep here tonight, so I am close to Leah when she wakes up or screams because of the pain or nightmares.
