Jordan's P.O.V.
Liam leaves and I see him undressing out the window to shift. I blush and look away immediately. My mom lets out a small giggle at me.
"So, you two haven't completed the mating bond, hmm? I know the council isn't allowing it now, but why didn't you two complete it when you first met?" My mom asks and cocks her head to the side. She already knows the answer to this question. I'm not sure why she bothered asking.
"Mom, I never wanted a mate. You know I like having my freedom, running my own pack, and now I am fully soul bonded with my wolf. I can no longer rid myself of her and get a new one. Granted I am happy now with Estelle as my wolf," I explain and smile at the end. Estelle purrs like a big baby in my head, but unlike usual, this makes me feel happier.
"Jordan, I've told you to stop doing that. It is dark magic. The darkest you can practice. You are ripping your soul to shreds every time you get a new wolf. However, I'm glad you have decided to allow the mate bond and your wolf to fully soul bond with you," She smiles, and I allow myself to enjoy the moment before we address the real reason I'm here.
"Mom, I have some things I need to talk to you about..." I trail off, but her eyes urge me to continue. I sigh, "Liam is becoming more and more curious about the cave. Some pack members have told me that he has even gone searching for it while I was in my coma. I'm not sure that he is ready to truly know about me." She nods, knowing that isn't the thing bothering me the most. She has always been able to read me.
"I know what happened with Drake when I was fourteen. I know what he did to me. Cerra showed me my memories, and Freyja showed me all of the abuse that father inflicted on me," Tears are streaming down my face, but I do not allow my voice to waiver. I must be strong. Mom's face pales and she looks down to the ground. Suddenly, she looks back up confused.
"What do you mean Cerra and Freyja showed you these things, Jordan? Freyja and Cerra are dead," Her face doesn't hide the clear confusion. I nod my head, kind of becoming irritated that she focused on that and not what I said before.
"I am soul bonded to Estelle, but I possess all four of my wolves now. I can call upon them whenever I wish," I explain to her. "I'll show you if you'd like," my voice softens. She nods her head. I really do not want to see or talk to Freyja and Cerra yet, but I know how much mom loved them both.
'Freyja, Cerra, Lilah, there's someone here who wants to see you guys,' I link them. They all respond with little yips.
Lilah appears first, the light is so bright that my mom must look away. Lilah moves over to my mom as Cerra and Freyja both come out of the light and into view. My mom is starstruck. Her mouth is hanging open and she keeps looking a the three of them and back to me and my heart where they came from.
"We communicate through the mindlink just as I do with Estelle. I cannot shift into any of them except Estelle that I know of, but they can completely detach from me and travel. They helped capture Drake," All of the wolves are sitting in between my mother and I. They are staring at her, as if they are waiting for her to invite them over to see her.
"So, does that mean I can touch them? Can I speak with them through my link as well? How far can they travel away from you? Will they have mates as well? How did this happen? Is this dark magic? Have you been experimenting?" My mother starts rattling off questions left and right giving me no time to answer her. Some of them I don't even know the answers to. Freyja moves over next to her and puts her head in her lap. My mom stops asking questions and just grins before wrapping her arms around her wolfy head and hugging her.
"Oh Freyja, I've missed you so much, and you both too! Come here!" Lilah and Cerra don't wait any longer. All three of the wolves are now getting coddled and loved on by my mom. I chuckle at them. They're acting like a bunch of pups. Mom loves on all of them for a while longer before I ask for them to return to my heart. I do not need Liam to see them.
"Liam doesn't know, I'm not sure how to explain it to him yet. Mom, we have to talk about the abuse from the past. I need to know why. What did I do?" My eyes start watering again and I can feel myself starting to pull away from reality to disassociate.
"You did nothing Jordan. None of that was your fault, it was mine," My mom begins. I wipe my eyes and wait for her to explain. "You are not your father's daughter. You are my daughter by my true mate, Ezekial," a smile covers her face as her eyes tear up a little. My mind is racing. How could she never tell me this?
"Ezekial was a wonderful man and an extremely loving mate. He loved you very, very much Jordan. Your father, rather Alpha Malcom, he had always wanted me as a mate. He knew too much of my powers and Ezekial's. He attacked us one day when you were only a few weeks old. He murdered your real father and kidnapped us. He forced me into being his mate and the Luna of the pack. Malcom said as long as I did as he asked no harm would ever come to you, but he lied. I'm so sorry Jordan, I should've told you sooner," My mother finishes and the tears continue to roll down her cheeks.
"Then why wouldn't you let me kill Malcom? I'm not the rightful heir to the pack Luna. If anyone ever finds this out, then there will be so much backlash!" The realization dawns on me and fear runs through me. I'm scared of losing my pack, the people who mean the most to me.
