Liam's P.O.V.
"Fuck." Jordan stands still in her fallen form. Her wings and horns are on full display. Well, this causes quite the problem. I rush to stand next to her letting out a warning growl.
"She is not a threat, back off Braven," I snarl at my brother. He is in full attack mode. He is half shifted, snarling and snapping at the air.
"She is a threat! Look at her! She's a demon!" He manages to growl out, but he cannot get his wolf under control. I shake my head and push Jordan behind my completely. Seth is in full protective mode and stands next to me. "There's another one!" Braven is losing the fight to his wolf.
Slade wasn't wrong. Fallen angels are despised more than demons and vampires. Braven will completely shift and snap Jordan's head off if I tell him the truth. "She's not a demon! Neither is he! It's just a potion. Jordan was trying to show me how to make an herbal remedy and we added the wrong ingredient! The potion exploded and they were hit, it should wear off soon!" I nudge Seth with my arm, hoping he and Jordan will get the hint to shift out of these states. Braven's growls start to become lower and lower until they subside.
Seth and Jordan walk to a chest in the room and grab clothing out of it. They both shift and get dressed quickly. Seth is in some basketball shorts and Jordan is wearing an oversized sweater that comes down to mid-thigh.
"What is this place and why does it reek of evil energy?" Braven questions once he is back in human form and has his wolf under control. Jordan clears her throat to approach us.
"Braven, this is where I come to practice some magic. My mother practiced dark magic in here before me, so it keeps the energy trapped in here. This is my cousin Seth, he came to visit," She introduces the two of them and I nod at her. Grateful she can come up with such a lie on the spot. Braven seems to have no problem believing it as Seth and he begin to get to know each other a little better. Jordan looks over at me with an innocent look in her eyes. I shake my head at her. She sighs and sits on the couch in the middle of the room.
"Braven, why are you here and how did you find this place?" I question, knowing Jordan put the enchantment back on the cave when we entered. He stops speaking with Seth and turns to me.
"You have been gone all day. Both of you. I asked Beta Oliver where you were, and he said Jordan said she needed the day to herself. I asked Frank, who then informed me of this cave and how to find it. I came here, but I couldn't find the entrance. I began wondering around until I finally found a way to get on top of the cave. I found that hole in the ceiling and jumped down. I've been here for about an hour trying to figure out which way to go," Braven calmly explains and Jordan grunts.
"Damn Frank can't keep anything to himself," She frowns. Seth chuckles.
"But he can make a damn good meal, and I'm starved," Seth states seriously. We all bust out laughing.
"Well, let's get back so he can make us all dinner," Jordan suggests. We all agree and follow her out. She disenchants the cave. Everyone walks out, and she puts the enchantment back on the entrance. "Remind me later to cover the hole up top. I don't need your brother snooping around," She lowly mumbles to me and I nod my head.
Seth and Braven begin walking back to the house just chatting. Jordan and I straggle behind, both in our heads about something. "Jordan?" She hums a response waiting for me to continue. "I think it's time we sit down and talk about everything. No more secrets or discoveries or lies or anything. Clearly, there's a lot I don't know about you, and you know nothing about me," I glance down at her in time to see her nod her head in agreeance.
"You're right Liam. I think it's best we get on the same page. We can talk tonight after everyone goes to bed," She smiles and twirls her hair. I wrap my arm around her shoulder and pull her into my side. I kiss the top of her head and breath her in. She smells like fire and sunflower petals. Danger and beauty. An angel with half a soul.
We arrive back at the manor, Jordan already linked Frank to tell him that Seth would be dining with us tonight. The short chubby man greets us happily at the door. "I made your favorite Seth! It's been so long since you've come to visit," Frank starts chatting his head off. Braven, Jordan, and myself start toward the dining room. Frank and Seth aren't far behind, but Frank is talking his head off. Seth manages to get a few words in.
Jordan comes to his rescue and we all sit down to eat. The staff comes out to serve us. Seth's eyes are lit up as the food is placed in front of him. His favorite, mac and cheese, chicken, and mashed potatoes. I raise my eyebrows and look at him.
"Not a lot of home cooked meals where I come from," Seth shrugs and digs in. We finish dinner with casual conversation taking over. Braven doesn't ask anymore about the cave or the potion. Frank joins us for dessert, apple pie, and he takes care of the rest of the conversation.
"Alright everyone, it's ten minutes until lights out. Frank, that means everyone. I'll take care of cleaning up. Seth, your room is clean and ready for you. Goodnight," Jordan shoos everyone to bed. The only people allowed out are those on duty and herself. I help her quickly clean the mess up.
"Come on Liam. We'll go to my room for the night," She grabs my hand and leads me upstairs. Here comes the time for us to both come clean. Let's just hope we can both decide to be with the other after this. The Moon Goddess paired us for a reason. I just hope we can handle each other's demons, all of them.
