Jordan's P.O.V.
Dr. Grey left earlier, and a nurse brought some food in. Liam has not left my side since I woke up. He has only released his grip on me three times. Once, for Dr. Grey to run the test, once to pee, and once to eat. He wasn't far away for any of them. I feel closer to him than before. I can feel the mate bond really taking control of my emotions.
"When do we leave to attack?" I ask Liam who has been twirling strands of my hair around his finger for the past ten minutes while staring at the wall. He zones back in and clears his throat. Liam looks over at me and sighs.
"The troops and I are heading out tonight," Liam looks down and then back up at me. "They have been training very hard, but I'm not sure we know Alpha Drake's plan..."
"Okay, I will need to start getting ready I suppose," I move to stand, and Liam snatches me back.
"What do you mean get ready? Jordan, you just woke up and you need to stay here to rest. I do not want you leaving this room." Liam demands and uses his Alpha voice. My eyes start flashing back and forth from green to black.
"Liam, you are not in charge of me. Stop using your Alpha voice on me. I will do as I please," I growl lowly at him and try to control Estelle. She is a bit on edge as is and him demanding we do as he wishes does not sit with her. Liam rolls his eyes and storms out of the room.
I roll over and groan. I admit I am exhausted and want nothing more than to stay here and rest, but I am the Luna. I have no choice. I move to get up and shower.
'Jordan,' Freyja purrs out at me. A smile comes across my face.
'Yes Freyja?' I call back out at her. A gasp of surprise escapes my lips as the white orb comes out of my chest and Freyja now stands before me with a beautiful wolfy grin spread across her muzzle. Freyja walks closer to me and nuzzles into my hand. I oblige and rub her head.
'Jordan, you now possess four wolves. You are strong. You can send Lilah, Cerra, and myself into the battle without ever leaving this room. You should listen to your mate. He only wants the best for you,' Freyja is disappearing into the white light and back into my heart.
'Freyja! Wait! What do you mean? How can I send you three off to battle without me being there?' I shout at her and the white light zooms back into my heart and Freyja is gone again. I keep calling out to her, but she does not answer. I groan and sit up.
My feet hit the floor and a wave of cold washes over my body. I link my Beta Oliver and ask him to meet me in my office in an hour. I look at the clock on the wall. 7:31. I have three hours before the troops are heading out to figure this out. I gather clothes and walk into the bathroom to shower and prepare for war.
I suit up in my black jeans and black shirt. I put my wet blue hair up into a bun and walk out of the bathroom. A scream fills the room when I see Liam standing right in front of the door. I didn't even sense or smell him. I lightly slap his arm.
"What the fuck Liam? Why are you hiding your scent?" I ask and continue to get ready, turning my back to him. He walks over and wraps his arms around me and pulls me into a hug. Sparks instantly shoot all over my body. I let out a purr of contentment before I can refrain myself. Liam lets out a low chuckle that causes my cheeks to heat up and a blush to take over. Damn this mate bond!
"What are you getting ready for?" Liam asks into my hair and I feel his breath fanning my neck. I roll my eyes and finish lacing my shoes."I am meeting with my Beta to get caught up on the plans for tonight," I move to walk toward my office. Liam's grip on me gets tighter and his growls are so loud, both of our bodies are vibrating from them. "Liam, cut it out."
"I do not want you out there tonight. I just got you back Jordan. Why do you have to be so stubborn?!" Liam's grip on me has not loosened and his scream causes my body to tense. I turn around in his arms expecting to see a pissed off Alpha, instead I see tears rolling down his cheeks. Confusion flashes through my eyes, but it is immediately replaced with worry. Why is he crying? Why do I care?
"What's wrong?" I ask and wipe the tears off his face. He leans into my hands and calms down. I'm still confused, but happy that he is no longer crying.
"I don't know Jordan. I accept you as my mate. I have never felt more alone or afraid than when you were in a coma. I can not lose you for real," Liam refuses to meet my eyes while he explains. I sigh and pull him closer to me in our hug.
