Sokka's Pov

We've taken a quick stop in a forest filled with tall trees that tower into the sky. We've run out of food, and I take in the responsibility of attempting to find something within the woods. There isn't very much out here, and I know little to nothing about Earth Kingdom plants. It's good to walk around for a bit, since a lot has been going on within the past couple days.

First of all, there is Y/N. She had done some crazy thing with Zuko, and I want to know more about it. I'm not sure how to ask, or even if there is a correct way to ask her. It was freakish, not that she's freakish, but it's strange.

I never thought she was a bender, I thought she was like me. A non-bender who would still fight no matter what. She never told us about being some ultra super secret bender... right?
Maybe she doesn't even know it herself. I'm sure she isn't a spy or anything, she's too sweet, too nervous to do anything.

Then, there's the Fire Nation that attacked our home. I hope that they don't return, because I'm not there to protect them.

I'm miles away, but I know that Zuko is after us, not them. I trust that Gran Gran knows how to take care of everyone.

And there's Kyoshi Island. So much happened that day, and I try not to overthink it.

I danced with Y/N on the ice, and I bailed on her because I got too scared when we stood close. Then there's what happened with Suki...

My thoughts trail off as I bend down and pick up something that looks similar to a tree nut. Aang, Y/N, and Katara had settled by a stream a little ways away, so they can refill our water supply. Hopefully I can find enough for us to eat.

Y/N's Pov

I spread out my palms on the cool surface of the boulder. Katara, Aang and I were seated around the flat plateau of stone, trying to escape the increasing heat. It wasn't terribly hot, but it was to the point where my heavy Water Tribe gear was too much. Aang was leaning up against an old, fallen tree and Katara was folding up an extra blanket.

I had changed into my Earth Kingdom clothes behind some rocks due to the change in weather, and if we had to go into a village I could easily blend in (hopefully my outfit isn't too dated ). The fabric is made for warmer seasons, which is much better than the thick parka and layers made for the arctic. I'm surprised how well they were preserved in the Air Temple for a hundred years. No one must have made it up to my room, or even thought of it as a room to be honest. It was kinda just some extra space they gave to me.

Not to brag, but my patchwork is barely noticeable. Well, partly because I had asked Katara for some help while we rode Appa on our way here.

I run my hands over the familiar shades of green that encases my body, and slide my switchblade into my sash. The friendly weight of the hilt gives me sense of peace, as I'm back in my old traveling attire from searching for the Monks. The memories of my home are embedded within the threads, and I hope to carry them close with me. It's like a blanket of security is put over me while I tug on my boots.

[A/n from the future: heyyy so i didn't like the drawings i put in here, so basically your earth kingdom clothes is really similar to Toph, but the pants are long and fit loosely, you wear boots, and you have the top kinda yellowish piece but it goes to your knees on the front and back. Sorry for this long explanation <3]

"Wow Y/N! You look just like the day I met you!" Aang complements.

"Yeah! And you even look like the common villagers around here! You won't even need to worry about a disguise. You look very pretty," Katara adds.
