We trail after the man, and he takes us through the surrounding woods. I don't know what to think, considering he just appeared out of nowhere. He could be taking us straight over a cliff but I don't say anything. If Aang trusts him, then so will I.

After a bit of walking, we arrive at a village that has been thrown into disrepair. The sun is beginning to set, casting shadows around the broken landscape. The house closest to the entrance only has it's rotting framework left. One of the buildings has it's roof torn halfway off, and there are bits of wood on the walkway. A cart has been abandoned off to the side, and it's like a spirit town. No human activity was to be seen, as this town completely contrasted Haru's village. He keeps walking, straight towards the main building, which has been completely untouched.

It's door has been left ajar, and he goes inside. "This young person is the Avatar."

Everyone turns their heads towards us in curiosity. It looks like everyone who lives here has gathered inside. But why would they do that?

A large chandelier hangs above us, and there is a walkway surrounding the room that's substitutes a second floor. Windows have shutters, but they are currently open, allowing the last remaining sunlight to flow through them.

"So the rumors of your return are true. It is the greatest honor of a lifetime to be in your presence," a man in brown robes said while he bowed. I am 90% sure this guy is the chief of the village.

Aang bowed back, "Nice to meet you, too. So, is there something I can help you with?"

"I'm not sure."

"Our village is in crisis," the old man spoke. "He's our only hope. For the last few days at sunset, a spirit monster comes and attacks our village. He is Hei Bai, the black and white spirit."

"Why is it attacking you?"

"We do not know. But each of the last 3 nights, he has abducted one of our own." The chief walks past us, leaning against the door frame, "We are especially fearful because the Winter Solstice draws near."

"What happens then?"

"As the solstice approaches, the natural world and the spirit world grow closer and closer, until the line between them is blurred completely. Hei Bai is already causing devastation and destruction. Once the solstice is here, there is no telling what will happen."

"So, what do you want me to do, exactly?"

The man with the cane spoke again, "Who better to resolve a crisis between our world and the Spirit World than the Avatar himself? You are the great bridge between man and spirits."

"Right... that's me," Aang responds with a tone of confusion.

"Hey, great bridge guy. Can I talk to you over here for a second?" Katara grabs Aang's sleeve and guides him over to a window. Sokka and I exchange a shrug before trailing after them.

"-I don't know anything at all about the spirit world. It's not like there's someone to teach me this stuff!" he responds sarcastically.

"Aang, I know you can help these people," I reassure him.

"I have to try, don't I? Maybe whatever I have to do will just... come to me," he says with a smile.

"I think you can do it, Aang."

"Yeah. We're all gonna be eaten by a spirit monster."

I lightly punch him in the arm, and Katara shoots him a glare. Aang doesn't notice.

Time skip: The day is drawing to a close as the sun is fading into the horizon...

Aang was standing outside on the porch of the building, with his glider in his hand. The villagers closed all the windows and shut the doors behind him. He started walking towards the sun, talking in a calm voice.
