Chapter 31: LIGHT

All of us became busy the next months.

Allison's brand ALICE became a cosmetic standard. She was invited to big events and she really became extra famous when she started her own vlogs. Her new office is still under construction. Elias is the architect and I'm the engineer.

Letisha is carrying their entire company. She's also doing her best to keep their place on top. She's really passionate in handling their businesses. Her mom and dad are still working but almost all the work is on her.

Felix is in charge of managing their company under RxM. At first he's hesitant since he's not that confident to handle it. He has older brothers but they all want him to lead. And now, he's doing his best with the help of Caleb.

"What do you think?" Trevor asked me.

Tinitignan ko ang tinatayong building sa Batangas. Ito ang pinakamalaking proyekto na nahawakan ko sa ilang buwan kong pagtatrabaho. Unit 1 was assigned to it but they appointed me as the engineer in charge next to Engr. Manansala.

"I think it will not work. Since it's January, we need to make things done soon. May paparating na bagyo kaya tingin ko mapo-postpone ang gawa natin," sagot ko sa kanya.

Tumango naman siya bilang pag-sang ayon sa akin. Ever since I showed my real potentials as an engineer, Trevor started treating me good. He often asks for my opinion in all of our projects.

"Break time muna," he said and leave us.

Tinanggal ko naman ang hard hat ko at pumunta sa tent na itinayo namin. Uminom ako ng malamig na tubig at umupo. Sobrang init ng panahon ngayon. Kung hindi lang ibinalita na may papasok na bagyo ay iisipin kong summer ngayon.

"Ang init," reklamo ni Niña.

"Sorry ang hot ko," pagbibiro ni Allana.

Napailing na lang kami sa biro niya. Pagkalipas ng ilang minuto at bumalik muli kami sa trabaho. Gabi na nang magdesisyon kaming bumalik sa company house. I'm staying here in Batangas for two months. Mahirap din na pabalik-balik ako sa Manila. Sayang ang gas.

Naligo muna ako at saka nagluto ng instant noodles. Ito ang lagi kong kinakain tuwing nakakalimutan kong mag-grocery. Mama always reminds me to eat healthy foods. She's very worried since I'm all alone here.

Niligpit ko na ang pinagkainan ko at naghanda na sa pagtulog. I turned off the lights but fear crept inside me. Hanggang ngayon ay takot pa rin ako sa dilim. It still reminds me of a dark and lonely night. Now that I'm alone, I can't escape that thought.

Kaya inabot ko agad ang lamp at binuksan ito. At least it will let me sleep in peace. Maaga pa ako bukas kasi tatapusin namin lahat ng pwede agad matapos. Para kung maapektuhan man kami ng bagyo, at least nasa kalahati na ang tapos namin.

Before I went to sleep, I texted Caleb. We're both busy but whenever we have time, we always call and text each other. I just hope he's taking care of himself. Knowing him, he's used to overwork himself.

I'm about to sleep. Good night.

Our relationship progressed a bit. He's doing good in stopping himself from jealousy or what. Hinahayaan niya rin akong gawin lahat ng aking gusto. He's very supportive. Especially when I told him about my plans on accepting Jared's offer.

Pagbalik ko ng Manila, gusto kong umawit muli. Iba iyong pakiramdam na nahanap ko kung saan talaga ako komportable. No expectations. Just me and my passion.

It took him few minutes to reply. Maybe he's at home.
