Logan listened to my plan and everything went smoothly for that, and the rest of the morning. It was currently lunch and I was sitting with Ellie, ready to discuss her course of action. "So, Ellie. What is the plan?" I asked with excitement. She blushes a little. "Well I invited him to sit with us and I was thinking you could maybe be a great best friend and leave us alone for like five minutes?" She said questioning if I would do as she planned. I nodded to her plan, and she sighed. We sat there for a while longer until Ellie's face went pale. I follow her trail of vision to see Steven walking this way, except we didn't have room to adjust the plan for the time he would bring a friend. There beside him chatting was Logan. Well, this wasn't part of the plan. They reached our table, bid their hellos, and sat down. I looked at Ellie and she looked back at me, and we did not know what to do. "So, what's new and exciting?" Steven asks. Me and Ellie tried to play it off as if we weren't freaking out. We just say nothing and I keep trying to figure out a plan, and I'm almost certain Ellie is doing the same thing. Then I came up with something. "I-uh- need to leave for a second, and Logan I think you should too," I say trying to sound normal. Ellie and Steven have shocked expressions, while Logan gave me a confused look. "No I do-" "Yes you do. I signed us up to help the-uh- principal clean his-um- chalkboards, and we are going to be late!" I say, making it up as I go. I grab Logan's arm and run from our table to the hallway, not forgetting to give Ellie a wink before leaving so she knows this is my new plan, and as a sign of good luck. "What in the world was that for? I didn't sign up to clean chalkboards," He says, a touch annoyed, and I sigh. "We aren't actually going to clean chalkboards silly. I just made that up so I can get them alone." I say in a whisper watching through a cafeteria window, making sure not to be seen I might add. "Why would they need to be alo-" I cut him off with the bread I brought with me from my lunch. Always be prepared. "Quiet! I think she's doing it!" I whisper scream. In the corner of my eye, I see the realization kick in his brain and he joins me in the spy watch. "So this is the girl he has been talking about?" Logan asked, somewhat confused. I silently nod knowing that his crush was Ellie all along. "Yeah, I think they had a crush on each other for a while. It is so cute but so annoying." I say with a sigh. Logan slightly giggles. I keep watch and I see Ellie finally looking super shy, then her mouth starts to move. This must be it. I see Ellie's mouth stop moving followed by probable silence. Then, I see Steven break out into a giant smile while nodding his head. "Yes, she finally did it. I guess I have to start planning now." I say thinking out loud. "Planning for what?" Logan asked. Right, I forgot he was beside me. "Oh, it's nothing. Should we let the lovebirds be now that my job is done?" I asked with a laugh and Logan joined me. " Sure," was all Logan said before I went into the direction of my locker, but for some reason, Logan seems to have an arm grabbing habit. "Wait, are you just going to leave me here?" He asked, for some, reason shocked. "Well, I was. I just thought you would have something better to do." I said truthfully. He gave me a tilted head in response. "I don't have anyone else to talk to or anything better to do. Besides won't this help us start over? You know, like what we were talking about this morning?" He asked with a sad look. I don't know what it is about that look, but you can't say no to it. "Well if you want to come with me to my locker you are more than welcome to," I say with no emotion. A big smile appeared on his face and we started walking side by side down the hallway. "So, Sam, what do you like to do in your free time?" Logan asked and I laughed. "Is that your best ice breaker?" I asked with a laugh and Logan joined me." Well, yeah. I don't exactly know what else to ask." He laughed. "Well, as you know I'm on our city soccer team. I like reading, and I'm a bit of a math geek. That is basically me in a nutshell. What about you? You must have something interesting to talk about being the famous Logan." I say with a phony British accent for the end, but not containing my laughter very well. Logan laughs with me at my attempt at a British accent. "Well, as you, I'm also on our city soccer team, but I am interested in music as well, that's why you saw me in the music store that one day." He said with a smile. "What do you play?" I asked. "Well I play mainly saxophone, but I can play a bit of guitar. How about you?" Logan asked. "Well, I don't know if you heard me playing the drums in the store bu-'' I was saying before I got interrupted. "Wait, you were the one playing those drums? Sorry for interrupting, but that was amazing playing!" He practically shouts, and I laugh. "That wasn't anything spectacular really. I was just screwing around." I say bashfully. "If that's just to keep yourself occupied I can't wait to see you actually trying." He said with a laugh and I joined him. "Anyways, you were saying before I interrupted." Logan said. This boy is so polite, I guess Steven was right. "Well drums are my main instrument, but I can play a number of other things, obviously not as well. I can play the flute, the alto sax, and I can play a little guitar myself." I say with a smile, and he nods at what I'm saying. I never knew how much we had in common, I thought it would be the odd thing we both like, but we have the same interests, we both want to go into music, and we like the same soccer team even. There are those things along with many more and it was kind of scary to see how much we had in common. I was so lost in conversation that I didn't realize I almost passed my locker. "Oh, this is my stop," I say with a smile. "So you're telling me you were going to leave me, just to go to your locker by yourself?" Logan asked and I could hear the smirk in his voice. "Well, I was-I mean-not exactly," I sputter out as Logan chuckles. "Relax I was just teasing." I turned around from getting my stuff from my locker and I saw Logan smile at me and I smiled back. Once again he seemed awfully close but I didn't mind. Why is this not bothering me? It is bothering me that it's not bothering me. I can feel myself turning slightly red and back up a bit, trying to hide the blush. "Well, we have tech together so want to walk there and get there early?" I asked and Logan nodded with a chuckle. "You want to get there early?" He asked with a raised brow and I playfully sighed and rolled my eyes. "Yes. No offense, but I don't want the chance to run into Emma before class. Besides we can grab the good googles," I say with a chuckle and Logan chuckles too, but it seemed sad in a way. I saw him give a sad sigh. "What's wrong? If you have other things to do that I can just g-" "No, no. It's not that. Just thinking about Emma and what she did, I feel really guilty," Logan said, scratching the back of his neck while looking at the floor. "Look, Logan. It's not your fault. You were just wrongly educated on the people here. I already forgive you. You have nothing to be guilty for. OK?" I asked and he hesitantly gave me a nod in response. "Now I'm going to our tech class. Do you want to come with me?" I asked. Logan nodded with a huge grin plastered on his face. I giggle and walk down the hallway while Logan runs to catch up. When he catches up he seems to be awfully close to me. We were almost touching shoulders. "So do you think they got together yet?" Logan asked, looking everywhere except at me. Why won't he look at me? "They must have by now. They liked each other for quite some time now, it would be foolish to not be together." I say remembering what I saw last through the window. "Well, I was honestly surprised they weren't together when I first met Steven. He talked about her a lot and you could see the twinkle in his eye when he talked about her." Logan said with a smile. "Wait, so you knew he liked Ellie?" I asked kind of shocked. It doesn't seem like Steven to tell someone his crush. "No. He always said 'she' and 'her' so no one knew who he was talking about." Logan said. That makes more sense. "I see, well Ellie was the same thing in public. We always said 'he' when people were around, but when it was the two of us she was comfortable to say, Steven." I say looking back. "Now that will be out the window for when they become an official couple." I say somewhat sad. They will probably want to be alone all the time and if I was to hang out with them I would just end up being the third wheel. "Why did you sound so sad saying that? Aren't you happy for them?" Logan asked, somewhat shocked. "Of course I'm happy for them. Just I might have no one to hang out with then. I will either be by myself 'cause they wanted to be alone, or I'm gonna end up being the third wheel. That's all." I say looking down. "Well if it makes you feel any better I will probably be a third wheel too," Logan said with a small smile. "How about if I were a third wheel with you? I say that's better than dealing with it alone," He says with a laugh and I join him. "I'd like that." I say with a giggle. I looked up into his eyes and he looked down into mine. It was like the time in math. We were the only ones in the universe. I could feel his minty breath on my face and I could smell his cologne perfectly, and my god it smelt amazing. We kept getting lost in each other's eyes until we heard a crash. We turn our heads to the sound then look back at each other. "I have to go!" We say in unison and we run in opposite directions. Was it bad that I didn't want that to end?
