When I saw the spider grow in size and runoff, that was the time for even a superhero to panic. How did this happen? I kept wobbling and went to Hightide who just stood in aw. "Hightide, what did you do?" I asked with worry. "I haven't got a clue. I did what you normally do, but instead of fixing everything it created that!" Hightide said pointing at the giant spider. "Cyclone! Make a tornado big enough to carry that thing so we can come up with a plan!" I shouted as Cyclone nodded and did as instructed. Now we have a tornado, with a spider, in the middle of the road. "OK everyone huddle up. We need a plan," I say and we huddle up like a high school football team. "OK, Sparky, what's the plan?" Hightide asked. "First, why do I have to come up with a plan? Second, since when did I say to call me Sparky?" I said annoyed and the three boys chuckled. Boys. "You are making the plan because your plans actually work," Dolostone piped in. "Yeah, have you seen what our plans turn into? A bloody disaster!" Cyclone shouted. OK, aren't they helpful? That was sarcasm if you didn't catch it. "How about this, Cyclone, if you can make your tornado powerful enough, it would get dizzy and maybe it won't be able to function?" I asked. "That would work, but just spinning probably won't get it worn out enough for you to properly get rid of it," Cyclone said. That is true. "How about Dolostone adds rock chunks into the mix?" I asked and Dolostone considered it. "I think it would work. It would really knock it out then you can properly stamp it with the thing and everything goes back to normal." We all agreed on the plan, so now it was time to execute. Cyclone kept focus on his tornado while Dolostone started getting rock chunks ready. I stood to the side with Hightide not leaving my side. "Hightide, why don't you help them out? I can handle sitting here by myself," I said. Hightide shook his head. "Not happening. You can barely walk and I don't need you getting hurt anymore then you already have," he stated firmly. My face was getting hot and I bet the redness was visible from under my mask, even though it covered over three-quarters of my face. I watched as Cyclone and Dolostone executed the plan perfectly. The creature was unconscious once again. Hightide helped me up and helped me walk over the thing as quickly as possible so it doesn't wake up again. I pressed the stamp to the spider's rib cage. The spider turned to ash and flew around the city. The buildings and roads got fixed and all the webs got removed. The ashes came to me last and got rid of the purple and blue on my stomach, but there was still some pain there, but it was a hell of a lot better than what it was. "Do you feel any better?" The boys said in unison. I nodded with a smile. "Good job boys, I'll see you next time, I got to go," I said and they understood. I threw my whip in the direction I wanted to go and I was on my way. I got back to school to see that it was still my tech period. Before I walked out of my hiding spot I got Hephaestus out of my backpack. "Hephaestus, why couldn't Hightide get rid of the spider? It only made the problem worse." I said and Hephaestus sighed. "I maybe should have told you. When I said only you could get rid of the beasts, it literally means only you can get rid of it. When someone else uses that stamp it reverses the normal effects it would have on it. So your whip weakens a beast and kills it, so when someone else uses it, it brings it back and gives it more strength" he said as a matter of factly. This made me slightly mad. "Why didn't you tell me?" I asked annoyed. He only shrugged. "I didn't think you would be out so bad someone else would have to do that for you," He said and I sighed. "Anything else I need to know before I leave this place?" I asked annoyed. He only shook his head so I was ready to go to my class. I walk in to see only half of the class there. Ellie wasn't here, along with Logan, Emma, and a bunch of other people. I go and sit in my normal seat, trying not to show the pain. I grab my shelf from the bunch and set it down on my desk. The teacher was waiting for all the students to come back before starting so I just went on my phone. My mom texted me to ask how I was and I replied that was fine, even though I was hit. I played a few games on my phone before I heard a chair being pulled up next to me. I look over to see Logan. I give him a smile and a wave and he returns it. "Are you OK Sam? We got separated from the spider attack and all," Logan said with concern. This boy is so swee- no, no. That is crush talk."I'm fine really, how are you?" I asked him. He said he was fine. " Do you know where Ellie is?" I asked. Logan chuckled a bit. "Am I not good enough company?" Logan teased and rolled my eyes. "It's not that. Just worried is all," I say looking away. "What is Emma going to say when she comes in and sees you are sitting with me?" I ask and Logan sighs. He looks down at the ground as if he was thinking about the meaning of life. I didn't think it was that hard of a question to answer. Logan after a while looks up at me and gives me a look I couldn't read. Was it a sorry look? Was it a look of sadness? Or was it a look of guilt? "Hey if you don't want to answer me it's fine. I didn't think it was a big question, but if it is you don't have t-" "Oh no. It's fine. I just don't really know what is going to happen. I have a feeling she hasn't shown how vicious she can be and I have a feeling she is going to gun for you, and I don't want that to happen to you," He said trailing off while scratching the back of his neck, and I looked away to hide my blush. This boy will be the death of me I tell you. While I'm still looking away I hear two dings. One from my phone and it seemed Logan got the ding two. Sounds like a text message. I look at my phone to see a text from Ellie. She just said she wasn't coming in she was too shaken up from the attack and that Steven said yes and how she would tell me about it later. I look at Logan and He looks back at me "Ellie isn't coming in so-" I looked up at his purely white smile and almost lost what I was going to ask. It was like my mind went blank and the only thing I could think about was Logan, but why? "I was wondering if you wanted t-" I was saying until I heard a slam on my desk. I see a hand beside me with overdone nails with a super over the top bracelet to match. I look up to not be surprised to see the owner of that over expensive bracelet to be Emma. She seemed pissed, and I was terrified. Her face screamed satan. Her face was turning red with anger and soon I wouldn't be surprised to see smoke coming out of her ears. "Logan, you know you are supposed to be sitting at our desk right? Why would you sit with Sam over me?" She yelled and everyone's heads turned to look at the three of us. I, at that point, was probably turning red with embarrassment and Logan seemed to look pissed off. "Look, Emma, he isn't doing anything wrong. He can sit wherever he wa-" I trailed off when I saw Emma's anger growing. "Look, stop being desperate. He probably feels sorry for you. Come on Logan, come and sit with me," Emma said, turning around heading to her seat, but Logan didn't move a muscle. "Well hurry up, the teacher is going to start class again," She says rushing back over to grab his arm. She grabbed his arm but Logan quickly pulled away. Emma froze with confusion written all over her face and Logan still looked pissed. She complains about how guys don't know the meaning of the word 'no' but here she can't take a hint that he doesn't want to sit with her. Shocker. That was sarcasm. "Well, what's the holdup? Let's go!" Emma said with agitation laced into her voice andLogan just shook his head. "I'm not sitting with you. Wasn't that clear?" Logan said with disgust and Emma was fuming. She looked at me and if looks could kill I would have already been six feet under. "It's because of this bitch, isn't it?" Emma screamed pointing in my direction. "Hey, what the hell have I done? I haven't done anything to you for the past few years and somehow you put the blame on me?!" I shouted back and Emma looked shocked. She wouldn't think I would dare to raise my voice back at her, but now I have had enough. "How dare you speak up to me! It is clear you have been trying your goddamn hardest to make Logan hate me and now you have succeeded! You proud of yourself?!" Emma screamed. I was proud. I was standing up for myself but not for somehow trying to take Logan away from her. Who has that kind of time on their hands? "Emma leave her alone. She hasn't done anything. I don't want to sit with you because of you," Logan said with anger on his face. Is he getting angry on my behalf? Or just angry because she pulled at his arm? Emma's face dropped. Her mouth fell open and her eyes went wide. "What are you talking about? What have I done for you to not like me? This nerd has you brainwashed!" Emma said and this made my blood boil. This bitch gets on my nerves. "Sam hasn't done shit to deserve your bitchy attitude. I suggest you take a hike," Logan says. Emma lets out a gasp. She probably didn't expect that chill bean to explode like that. Emma lets out a huff and wanders back to her seat, making a scene as she did so. Everyone finally turned their heads back to what they were doing and I sigh a sigh of relief. I have had enough attention for a lifetime, but with that crazy girl around I will have enough for nine lifetimes. I looked to Logan to see he seemed to already forget what just happened and went back to his phone. "Um hey. Thanks for standing up for me like that," I say with a blush creeping its way onto my cheeks. "Of course. Why wouldn't I? I meant what I said. You don't deserve her shitty attitude. You deserve better and I want to be the one to give you better," he said with a charming smile and I blushed. My face was probably a tomato, my heart was beating at twice the speed it should, and there was a weird feeling in my stomach. What is this feeling, and how do I get rid of it?
