After running away from Logan I found a spot to hide. Sadly, it wasn't the most pleasant. It was the garbage room in my school. This was where all the trash goes before going to an actual dump and it smelt horrible. "You don't like him huh?" Hephaestus said with a grin. "Hephaestus now is not the time. Hephaestus, give me strength!" I said and my hero suit came to life on my body. Can't wait for this to change from a cop top to a normal shirt though. I walk out of the room to see all the kids running down the hallway deeper into the school. That makes me assume this thing was outside. I open the double doors to see a giant, black widow spider. It was as tall as two school busses stacked on top of one another and was as long as probably a football field. It was disgusting. It was shooting spider webs and trapping people in sticky cocoons that were stuck to the roads so people couldn't run. I started walking up to everyone who was trapped to see if they were OK, and most of them said they were fine except for the few that screamed at me to kill that thing. If I could leave those certain people there I would. I ran up to get a better look at the giant spider to see someone stuck on the road, under the spider and it was almost like the spider was going to squash them. I threw my whip forward to wrap it around the cocoon. It got secure from the stickiness and I pulled on my whip as hard as I could. Just in time, the cocoon came loose from the road and it came flying to me. I dodged the cocoon and it landed a little behind me. "Are you alright?" I asked, turning around. I turned around to see the head that I saved, and it was Cyclone. "Cyclone!? What in the world are you doing in a cocoon?" I asked trying to get the sticky webs off. "I was trying to get the thing to the lake downtown, but before I got my tornado ready it kinda got me, and the wind doesn't exactly get rid of spider webs very well. Could you help a man out?" He asked I think while trying to shrug his shoulders. "I don't think that's a good idea. These things are too strong to pull on, and I can't exactly use my powers yet. There is a good chance I would burn you anyway if I could use my powers." I say, sadly. Then an idea came to me. "I'll get Hightide. He can make these things less sticky and then he can rip them off," I say with confidence. "OK, then hurry. I don't want another chance to get stepped on," Cyclone said, and I rolled my eyes. I start running to find Hightide. "I promise to get you out!" I shout at Cyclone. I ran into Dolostone and gave him some instructions. "Dolostone, thank god you're here. Can you try and keep the spider contained in one area for a bit. I have a plan, but I need to get Cyclone out of his cocoon first, and I can't find Hightide anywhere," I say firmly. He obeyed orders and used the rocks to make some sort of force field. I kept running yelling out Hightide's name. Where is he? I turn a corner to finally find Hightide being crushed. Except it wasn't literally and it was by a crazy fan. "Hightide you must protect me. I can make it worth your while," The girl said, trying to sound seductive. I know what she was trying to do and it was nasty. "Hightide! Let's go. I need you to get Cyclone out of a cocoon. I don't know how long Dolostone can last by himself!" I shout at him slightly annoyed. My shouting made the girl let go and Hightide ran alongside me to Cyclone. "Why didn't you push her off you? I don't think her feelings are more important than the whole town." I said annoyed. "Chill out Sparky, I just didn't want to hurt the girl. I wouldn't actually take her offer," Hightide says. For some reason, I had a sigh of relief when I knew he wouldn't accept her offer. "Just be more aggressive or something next time. Saving everyone is more important. Now I have a plan. I need you to get Cyclone free. By doing that Cyclone then will be able to conger a tornado that will pick up the spider and put it in the lake. Then Dolostone will put a giant rock on top to keep it there. Once it becomes unconscious from the lack of oxygen you will bring it up from the water so I can get rid of it. Any questions?" I ask. "What about you? Not to be rude but you don't seem to do anything besides hit it like a stamp." Hightide said. Well, he wasn't wrong. "Well considering I can't use my powers for some reason I don't actually do much this time. I'm just kind of leading the plan. Is that a problem?" I ask and he thinks about it but shakes his head in the end.We finally reached Cyclone and he smiled when he saw us come up. "Finally. What took you so long?" Cyclone asked while Hightide used his water powers to create a bubble to surround the cocoon. "Prince charming here had a clingy fan," I say in a bored tone and Hightide just looks at me. You could see the strands loosening and some of the loose ends were coming up. "I think that's good HIghtide. I think now we can rip it off." I say and immediately he let the bubble go. We ripped the strands off and Cyclone stood up to stretch. "That feels better. I will never say spiders are stupid ever again," Cyclone said and we laughed. "Now let's go. Hightide you tell Cyclone and Dolostone the plan while I make sure everyone is out of the area." They nod and go to Dolostone who surprisingly had the spider still contained. I found a few people in the path of where the tornado would be so I got them to safety. I got the last few people out of the way when I saw a tornado with the three boys not far behind it. Cyclone was concentrating on the tornado making sure it didn't go out of control while Dolostone was getting a chunk of earth out of the ground ready. I saw a chuck of the ground start floating in the air surrounded by a light brown glow. The tornado reached the lake and Cyclone called off the tornado dropping the spider with a giant slash. "Now Dolostone!" I shout. Dolostone then moves the rock over the creature in the water and drops it. The rock made a huge splash and it crushed the spider. I looked into the lake to see a black blob, which I am assuming is the spider under the rock, that was leaking air bubbles. "How long are we leaving it there?" Dolostone asked. "Until I see the air bubbles stop, then Hightide I want you to move the water so I have a path down to that thing." I said firmly and the boys agreed. I watched the bubbles closely then I saw them stop. "Dolostone I want you to press that rock down just to be sure it doesn't all of a sudden attack me OK?" I asked and Dolostone nodded. Hightide created a path for me and I saw the giant rock with the light brown glow and the spider underneath it that was unconscious. I walked up to it and I pressed the button on my whip. I was maybe a foot from pressing the stamp to the spider when all of a sudden I got whipped in the stomach by its leg. I flew back into the wall of water Hightide made. I opened my eyes underwater- well I don't know how to put it because I'm not really under it. That is not important. I saw the spider coming to with the rock still on top of it. It can't move but it's still willing to fight. I looked at my stomach where I got hit and it was probably the biggest bruise I have ever seen. My entire stomach was already slightly purple and blue. This spider's leg was huge so I wouldn't be surprised if my legs were slightly bruised along with my chest. I got out of the water and I didn't realize how much that hit affected me 'cause it was really hard to stand. I see Hightide running to me. "Sparks, talk to me. Are you OK?" he asked with concern written all over his face. I tried to stand up straight to prove I was fine, but it wasn't working out. "Look I'm fine. I have to get out of here so you can put the water back." I said. I tried walking on my own, but I was really wobbly. Next thing you know I'm being carried bridal style by Hightide. "I can walk you know." I said trying to sound annoyed. Hightide gave me a look to say he knew I liked it and it also said you really can't. Sadly, he was right on both accounts. I did like being carried like this, especially by Hightide but I won't admit that out loud. It was also true it would take me at least two weeks to walk out of the lake by myself. So I just wrapped my arms around his neck and just accepted it. I saw Hightide release the water back to what it was before to try and knock out the spider once again. He put me down next to a tree that was far enough away to be safe, but I could also see what was happening. "Stay here. I'll take your button thing and press it to the spider for you. Once the ash things go around maybe it will heal your stomach," Hightide said. I was hesitant to give him my only source of protection, but one look in his eyes made my body move on its own. My body, without consent, just gave him my only protection. He gave me a heartwarming smile and I tried to return it. He walked up to the spider and pressed the stamp to its rib cage, except instead of it turning to ash, nothing happened. I got up, still a little wobbly, and tried to walk up to one of the boys. Before I reached one of them the spider all of a sudden grew in size and that rock looked like a pebble. Its strength returned and it was ready to fight. This wasn't good.
