Lunch flew around and I was sitting on my own. The lovely couple went to eat by themselves, which I'm not mad about. Good for them, I'm just lonely now, and there is no way I'm joining them and being the third wheel. I look up from my strawberries to see Logan all sunshine and rainbows with Steven's buddies and I sigh. I take another look around to see Emma and her crew with smirks on their faces. The fuck are they smirking about? All three go to look at me and I immediately look away. Nope, not today. I pack up my things and start heading to my locker. Whatever they are doing I'm not sticking around for. I put my stuff away and shut the locker door behind me. I start heading to my tech class when I hear footsteps behind me. I turn to see no one in sight. I shrugged my shoulders and kept on walking. I went on some more and heard more footsteps. I turn again to see no one there. "OK, who is fucking with me?" I asked sternly and as expected got no reply. "This isn't funny," I spoke again. I looked around and sigh. I turned back around, but I picked up the pace. The footsteps I heard increased speed to keep up with me. "Aha!" I shouted as I turned around again. No one. Man, I look dumb right now. I turn into the doorway of my tech room and take my seat. I kept glancing up at the door to see if my stalker would walk in or at least pass by the door. Nobody passed my door which is very unfortunate. I went on my phone when I heard more footsteps pacing around the room. What the hell? I look up to still see nobody there. "Ok. This really isn't funny," I mumbled out. My head is darting around the room and I'm not seeing anything. "I'm going insane," I stated. I looked back at my phone, scrolling through social media. Slam. I look up once again to see the door has been slammed. "What the fuck was that!" I shouted. I ran over to the door and tried to pry it open. I had no luck and the door stayed shut. I started banging on the door hoping for someone to hear me. "Help! Someone help!" I shouted while slamming my fists on the door. "No one is going to hear your screams," a female voice chuckled. It sounded so evil and it put a bit of fear inside me. I whipped my head to look around the classroom. "Who was that? Who's there?" I asked looking around. "No one is going to find you," the voice chuckled again. "Who is fucking with me here!" I shouted. "I'm seriously scared this isn't funny!" I shouted with a tear going down my face. "I'm not being funny. No jokes have been said," the voice piped in. I felt a cool breeze go over my legs and it made me shiver, I'm not sure just because it was cold or just made me shiver with more fear. "Whoever you are back off. I don't have any money or riches," I said standing up and walking back to my desk. "I'm not here for riches. I'm simply here for you," the voice said smoothly. Me? I grabbed a stainless steel rod from the cabinet at the back, using it as a weapon. I slowly made my way over to my backpack to see if Hephaestus had any clues, but he was gone. "Looking for your friend?" the voice asked and I kept looking around. "He is fine.......... For now," the voice said. "What did you do to him?!" I shouted and a chuckle arose from thin air. "Nothing. You have my word. He is just, let's just say sleeping," the small chuckles turned into evil cackles. I'm still spinning trying to find where the voices are coming from. "How do you know who I am?" I asked and another cool breeze went over my legs. "There was something different about you. You had this energy that no one else had," the voice sounded like they were pondering how they knew. "Well you know who I am great, but what about the others?" I asked and I heard the voice sigh. "That's just it. I can't. You truly are different child. Anything seen as a threat to my plan needs to go and that energy needs to go. So to help me out I took your little friend," she said and I let out a growl. "I want him back!" I shouted, waving my rod through the air trying to find something. "'I want him back,'' the voice mocked. "Why should I give him back? It's a hell of a lot more fun to see you scramble around like a chicken with its head cut off. It's easier to take you out when no one is around," And with that, a huge Cheshire grin appeared in front of me with black eyes on top to match. The lips that I was staring at had dark purple lipstick on and pearly white teeth. The eyes were as black as the grim reaper's soul and spilling out of them was black tears. These tears were dropping on the floor since there was no face to catch them and it burned the floor like acid. I kept stepping back to keep my distance but the face kept creeping forward with me. "Don't try and run child you have nowhere to run to," The veil voice said. "And nowhere to hide!" Purple smog appeared around the room, blinding me so bad I couldn't see my hand in front of my face. Two giant hands probably the size of my torso grabbed my waist and pulled me in the air. I still had my steel rod and started hitting the hands with all my strength but they wouldn't budge. "That's cute, but that's not going to help you," The voice bellowed. I felt their breath on my face and it sent horrible shivers down my spine. Purple smog started to cover the room, blinding me. From the little I could see in front of me I saw a silhouette of a woman the size of a giant. From what I could see she had the perfect hourglass shape with long flowing hair. The fog was clearing, allowing me to see the figure holding me with more detail. She had light purple skin, her hair was black and she had a long purple dress. It was skin tight on the top with a little flare at the bottom. It had one long slit going all the way up her long leg and it had black accents on it. It would be a beautiful dress as a prom dress, but it was all ripped up like she let an old lady's cat run loose on her dress. She would probably be beautiful if she didn't want to fucking kill me. One hand let go of me and pushed the wall down as if the hand was pushing over a toddler. I loud hiss was heard from the creature or person, whatever is holding me right now. That was followed by a loud, evil cackle. I'm squirming around in the thing's grip, but I'm not doing anything. "Someone help!" I screamed, still trying to pry the hand off my waist. I'm looking down seeing people running away and screaming for their lives. "Help!" I screamed again. I'm screaming at the top of my lungs with the little hope I had when I felt a bit of water on the back of my neck. "Let the girl go!" I heard Hightide exclaim behind me. The person carrying me hissed to try and set some fear into the blue boy, but there was nothing but determination on his face. I still keep squirming to no avail, but I have some faith in these boys. I see Dolostone come flying from the right with Cyclone not very far behind him. The woman let out a battle cry, swiping at the boys with her free claw. I let out an annoyed groan. "Put me down!" I shouted flailing my legs around like a child.Rocks are flying left and right, and almost hitting me. Dolostone, I swear if he hits me he is going to get it. Hightide and the boys are having a conversation while this is happening and it does not look good for my alternate self. "Where the fuck is Sparks?!" Hightide shouted. I looked over to the other two boys and they looked just about as pissed as Hightide did. "I don't know dude, but if she doesn't show up soon we are toast!" Cyclone shouted back. I'm in for it when I get out of this stupid hand. "Drop the girl, we can make this end a lot quicker for you!" Dolostone shouted. The woman cackled at the idea of letting me go. "Please this girl is way too important!" The lady shouted. Another cackle was heard as the boys' attacks weren't making a dent in her pride. Finally one of Dolostone's rocks landed in exactly the right spot on her wrist so she would let go. Now the only problem is I'm falling to my fucking death. I'm a good one hundred feet off the ground so I know I won't survive this fall. I'm screaming with tears going down my face, not ready to accept death. I turn my head to see I'm not far from crashing into the ground. "Sam!" a voice yelled. I closed my eyes preparing for impact, but I only ended up in someone's arms bridal style. I open my eyes to look into foggy blue ones. "Sam! Talk to me!" Hightide demanded. My head was still spinning so I give a nod to say I'm fine. "Let's get you out of here," he said. Still holding on to me he ran to a safer place. I accepted I'm not getting put down so I latched my arms around his neck and snuggled closer to his chest. He might be on bad terms with Sparks, but he doesn't have to be with Sam. I close my eyes putting all my trust in this masked boy and let out a sigh. Hightide stopped and I opened my eyes to see we are in an alley long ways away."Are you good to stand?" He asked me with concern in his eyes, still a little foggy. Was he really this shaken up about me? I give a shaky nod and he sets me down gently. I don't know what came over me, but as soon as my feet touched the ground I jumped into his arms for a hug. He was surprised seeing how his muscles tensed, and a slight gasp of shock was heard coming from his lips. "Thank you," I whispered in his ear. His arms slithered their way around my upper waist, and he rested his head on my shoulder. "It's my job," He simply said. "Can I ask you something?" I asked still clinging on for my life. He let out a hum, a nod and I took a deep breath. "How do you know me?" I asked. I let go to face him, but I didn't leave that much distance so he towered over me. He let out a sigh and looked sad. "Y-y-you drop off at my house a-and say 'good night Sam' but I never told you my name. Just now you said my name. How do you know me?" I asked with distress. He took a step closer than put a hand on my cheek. His eyes were still filled with despair. "I can't tell you. I'm not supposed to give any clues to my identity. I shouldn't have said your name in the first place," he said softly. How could a rejection feel so calm? "Let's just say-" he started, moving his face close to mine. He moved over to the right and kissed my cheek tenderly. "-we have some sort of relations," he whispered in my ear. His cool breath sent a shiver down my spine. He rubbed his thumb over my skin before removing his hand and gave me a sorry smile. "I got to go. After though you need to tell me or Sparks, or anyone, why that lady says you're so important. Your life could be at stake here," He said. WIth that he ran off back to the fight and I was just sitting there. I put my hand where his was, hoping to regain that warmth I missed from his touch. Then realization kicked in. Hightiude likes me, and me.
