Well, this is just terrific. I like Mr. Perfect. This is the worst! We couldn't be together. I am too busy with being a superhero, working a part-time job, school work, soccer, and I have to be a wing woman for Ellie. To top it all he already likes someone else who probably has fewer problems in her life unlike me. I bet she has the best grades in the whole school and is crazy good at sports. I don't stand a chance against this girl. I walk into the gym with those final thoughts in mind. I walk in to see every single boy from the boy's class ready to go, and they all seem to be staring at me. It might be because I was the only girl out in the gym, but I still felt uncomfortable. I went to go sit on a bench and read the book I brought along. Yes, I bring a book around wherever I go. I would normally take this time to practice some basketball shots or something, but that was when nobody else was in here besides the teacher. Now there are over thirty boys and it made me uncomfortable. I was so into my book I didn't realize everyone came out of the change rooms. All the girls were hitting on whatever boy they came up to and it was a bit disgusting. Some girls tried to inconspicuously grind up against the opposite sex, but they were failing miserably. It made me want to gag. Some boys were into it, and some were trying to run away, but those girls are clingy. I rolled my eyes at the pitiful attempts of girls trying to impress the guys and went back to my book. I was lost in the land of romance with a classic knight and princess. They loved each other, but the princess had to marry a prince and they are destined to never be together. Almost feels like me right now. Sure I'm not a princess and all, but I really like Logan, but we are destined to never be together. It's not because he is a knight, but he just doesn't like me. Basically the same thing. I was so engrossed in the novel that I barely heard a body sit beside me. I look to my left to see Logan giving me one of his signature smiles. "Hey Logan," I say and I start feeling hot again. I just admitted I liked him ten minutes ago, how am I supposed to have a normal conversation with him? "Hey, Sam. What are you doing here all by yourself?" Logan asked with a small frown and I looked away. That was a very cute frown. I know that those words should never be in the same sentence but it was true. He looks adorable no matter what let's be real. An hour ago I would never say that, but I can't lie to myself anymore. The lies I tell myself aren't convincing me anymore. "Well, these just aren't my kind of people, you know? These girls are more obsessed with dressing like strippers in front of the boys and being better than everyone else. I can't really stand that," I say, putting down my book making sure to mark my page. Logan lets out a low chuckle and it made me melt on the inside. "Understandable. That's what it's like with the boys. I can barely stand everyone in this class," He says and we laugh at our horrible classes. "So, Steven tells me you're going on a double date with him and Ellie, who's your date?" He asked with a serious tone. Why so serious? "It's some dude named Derek. I don't know him, but Steven says he's cool. I'm not exactly excited though. I couldn't care less about dating right now," Yes I fucking could! I would really care about dating if Logan asked me out, but he already has eyes on another girl! I am not getting jealous in my head right now. That is stupid. I haven't even met this girl, she is probably great and there is no point in getting mad at a girl I don't even know. "I'm happy for you. Even if you aren't excited about it. Steven is really excited though. He wouldn't stop talking about it all weekend," He said in a sad tone. Why is he so sad lately? "Hey, are you OK? You seem a little depressed," I said and he gave me a small sigh. "Actually there i-" He was going to say, but we were interrupted by a whistle coming from the boy's gym teacher. "Gather 'round everyone. We need to start the class!" Mr. White shouts. Before Logan has a chance to go and gather with everyone else I put my hand on his shoulder. He turns to me and I smile at him. "Hey, tell me what you were going to tell me later, OK? If something is bothering you I want to know," I say and he nods in approval. We go to the group of kids together and listen to what the teachers have to say. We ended up playing basketball for the whole period and I didn't mind. I was on Logan's team and I didn't mind that even more. There were more girls than boys so I, obviously, volunteered to be on the boy's team because.... Logan. Most of the girls suck at basketball so we crushed them. I was about to go to the change room until I got a hand on my shoulder. I was expecting Logan, but it turned out to be some random girl. "Listen, just because Logan felt bad for you doesn't mean he likes you," The girl said with a snarl and I rolled my eyes. "Look, I don't like him, and he doesn't like me. You can have him!" I practically shouted and she just continued to stare at me. "Just don't go near him," The girl said before pushing me back causing me to stumble a little. Unbelievable. I get he is an amazing guy, but really? Was the push necessary? I head back to the change rooms and when I exit all change at the same time that is when Logan exited the boy's change room. "Hey, Logan I had the best idea," I stated. It wasn't but it was a win-win idea. He nodded as a signal to go on with my brilliant plan. "I was thinking if we just hung out, just the two of us. That way we can let the lovebirds be," I said and he nodded along. If he says yes I can hang out with him all alone and Ellie can be all alone with Steven. I'm more doing it for me, but it works for Ellie too. "That sounds like a great idea, where do you want to hang out?" Logan asked and I immediately smiled at his response. "How about the soccer field? I never see anyone hang out there gives us privacy in case one of your fangirls comes after you," I say and we both laugh. Logan agrees on the place and we go our separate ways. I go to my locker, grab my phone and head to Logan and I's meeting place. Of course, life sucks, and Emma approaches me in the hallway. "I thought you said you didn't like Logan. What happened to that? Now you are hanging out just the two of you? Sounds pretty crush like to me," Emma said crossing her arms and I rolled my eyes. "We are friends Emma. Nothing more. Besides, we would be hanging out with our friends but we want to give them some alone time. Just chill out," I say annoyed and Emma started to turn red. "You better not be lying Brown. I got connections," She said, giving me one final glare before walking off. "Bitch," I mutter under my breath. I keep walking down the hallway when I pass the cafeteria and see Ellie and Steven sitting together by themselves. I see Ellie look at me and I give her a thumbs up and keep on walking. I reached the spot a little earlier than Logan so I decided to go on my phone for a while. I open my phone to see a text from Mom saying that her and Dad left on another trip. She stated that she trusted us to be on our own with the attacks. Of course, she sends a paragraph of rules for when an attack happens but I will more likely be breaking all of them since I have to stop the attack. Only if Mom knew. "Hey, Sam!" Logan shouts walking over to my spot on the soccer field. "Hey, did you pass by the lovely couple on your way here?" I asked with a smirk and he laughed. "Yeah. They seem to be pretty good together. They better marry each other," Logan said and now it was my turn to laugh. "We better be invited to the wedding too," I say in between my laughs. Logan wipes a tear from his eye and sits down. "So what's new with Sam Brown?" Logan asked and I sighed. Logan gave me a tilted head. "Just some girl thinks I'm 'stealing' you or whatever. You can't steal someone, they're not property," I say with a small laugh. Logan shakes his head. "Girls can be so strange," Logan says and I start laughing again. "Excuse me Mr. Smith, but boys are just as confusing!" I shout at him and he laughs. "Please you guys say how the 'saying the opposite of what you mean' thing isn't true, but you do it all the time!" Logan laughs out and I join him again. "Well do you know why women live longer than men? It's because men do stupid shit a lot!" I counter back. "OK, Let's agree both males and females are strange," Logan says and I shake his hand in a somewhat truce. "Hey, by the way, you never got to tell me what was bothering you, care to tell me now?" I asked and Logan sighed. "I wish you forgot about that," He says scratching the back of his neck, looking down. "No sir, now tell me what's bothering you," I say, giving him a slight shove in the arm. "Well you see-" Bang. This loud bang was large enough to shake the ground. What in the world? Just as Logan was going to tell me what was wrong. Really?! I looked all around to find the source of the noise until my eyes caught the sight of a very disturbing scene. A griffin. A girl in my grade one class wouldn't stop talking about these things. Half eagle and half lion I believe is what she said. Back then they seemed weird and dumb, but to see it in front of me they are super cool but extremely terrifying. "Logan, run!" I shout and he grabs my hand and runs off to the school. I know this is a bad time to say it, but Logan is holding my hand. We make it inside, but we can't find Ellie and Steven anywhere. "Logan I'll go find Steven and Ellie. You stay here, it's dangerous!" I say. I was about to run off when Logan's voice stopped me in my tracks. "What about you! It's dangerous if you go alone looking for them!" He says and he isn't wrong, but..... "Steven and Ellie are more important! Stay safe!" I say and I run off to transform in a safe location. This battle should be interesting.

Author's note:

To the very few readers that are reading this book, I will no longer be uploading 2 chapters a week. I'm falling behind on writing because of school and all that mumbo jumbo. So from now on, it will only be one chapter a week, but it will still update every Friday........except next week. I will be updating on Thursday next week because I will not physically be able to on Friday. I know not very many people are reading, but to the little handful that are thanks for reading. I have put a lot of thought into this story.
