The Stolen Jewel of Hecate

Chapter 7

"Hephaestus, give me strength," I said. Next thing you know there is a bright orange light forming around my body. I closed my eyes, it was that bright. I opened my eyes to my normal clothes gone and replaced with... I don't really know. I looked down at what I was now wearing. I don't really know how to feel. I was in a tight black crop top, with a fire symbol on it. I had a belt with the same symbol and that's where my whip hung. I had black tight pants and shoes that looked like they were a part of my pants. My whip was a mix of brown and red with literal fire at the end. I looked down at myself once more and wandered around, making sure where I was wandering was with no people. I see myself in a reflective glass case. I looked at myself in the reflection. My hair was a mix of red and orange and it had the illusion of looking like fire. I also had a mask on my face. It covered most of my face, it curved around my left eye and went over the bridge of my nose. After it went over my bridge it went down and curved around my mouth. With my right eye being able to see with the small opening it had, I say I was pretty well covered to keep my identity safe. Besides, no one will think it's me. I went running down the hall to find this beast until I heard a scream. It came from outside. I ran to the outside doors to see the giant........... thing with Emma in one of its claws. How fast does this thing grow? I swear it was only ten feet tall five minutes ago. I don't have to save her right? It wasn't part of the job description. Then again it could go to hurt someone else. Then again I can't do this. What am I supposed to do? "Hey lady, you gonna stand there or help me?!" Emma screamed. Everyone was looking at me. Until three guys showed up. They were so brave. It seemed this new hero thing didn't phase them. The one in blue is, I'm assuming is the Poseidon one. He had his dark brown hair gelled up, and it had blue frosted tips. His suit faded from a dark blue on the top and went down to a light blue. Then it hit a black belt, pants, and shoes. He had I'm assuming his symbol of a water droplet on both his hands. Also on his one hand was a ring. It was a beautiful blue with a small trident on it. His weapon of choice was a trident like Poisden himself. It was gold and shiny. It was extraordinary. The mask was black with a blue water droplet on it with two eye holes for him to see. The second boy was, again I'm assuming the Gaia. I got that guess because he was literally riding a rock in the air, which I'm assuming he was controlling. He was basically the color of dirt all the way down his body. He had a bit of a deep 'V' in his suit with a black belt and boots. He had a giant rock on his top half as his symbol. His hair was a bright green color and was half-shaved, and his hair was grown out to his shoulders. His hair was covering a small pair of earrings that had small rocks hanging from them. His weapon of choice was a shield that looked like it was made of smaller rocks. His mask looked like he had molten lava running down his face. The last one must be the only jewel left. The hero of Aeolus. He was standing on a mini-tornado. He had white hair and it was gelled up like the blue one. He had a chain around his neck made up of clouds. His suit on the top half looked like it was covered in clouds, and under the clouds was blue sky. His belt was a white-ish grey while his lower half was blue like the sky. He had grey boots on and his weapon of choice was a staff, with two circles and a cloud on top. While they had those powers, I had fire. I don't exactly have a way to fly because fire doesn't do those things. The three boys were battling it out with the giant beast, the blue one notices me standing there. " Hey, fire lady. You gettin' in on this? We kinda need you." He screamed, hitting the beast with his trident. I just stood there while they were kind of getting their asses handed to them on a silver platter. The beast knocked them all down and jumped away with Emma in hand. All you could hear as the beast ran away was Emma's scream. " What the hell was that, flower boy? What are you supposed to do? Grow him a bouquet of flowers? Like come on, you might as well if you ain't gonna attack him!" The white one yelled. "Excuse me but if water boy actually used his powers he could drown the thing and we could all go home." The green one stated. " Oh really? I think mister tornado didn't even land a hit on him. What a help." the blue one stated angrily. They continued to argue like toddlers. " Boys!" I screamed. They all turned to me with an angry expression. "Stop yelling at each other and focus. If you guys are going to be a team you need to work together." I stated knowingly. " Why would we listen to you? You stood there and did nothing!" the blue one yelled. " Just because I got a jewel doesn't mean I am ready to risk my life. I was picked by mistake. Now focus. You need to go after this beast and take it down. So, put your differences aside and get rid of that thing." I said firmly. " What about you Mrs. Scardy cat? What are you going to do? Act like a hero when you didn't do a thing?" The green one stated. " OK, no need for that childishness. I'm finding this keeper, giving him the jewel back so you can have a better fire hero."I stated my plan and they all looked at me strangely. " Um, hate to burst your bubble but you are the only one who can permanently get rid of it. Weren't you told?" The blue one stated. I shook my head. " It doesn't matter. You guys will have a new teammate by the time you get that beast out cold."I said confidently. They looked at me with disgust. I sighed. " Look, I know I'm not good at this hero thing, but I know what I'm talking about when I say work together and take that thing down." I said. The three nodded. "Fine, I will listen to you this once, but I'm done after that, you in boys?" the white one asked. The others nodded in agreement. They went on their way and I found a place to lose my hero self. "Kid, are you mad? You can't get a new hero. You have to help them. I didn't tell you this but you're the only one who can permanently get rid of that thing. Now transform and help those, I'm sorry to say, nitwits, kill the beast!" He screamed. I shook my head. "I'm not ready to do this. I can't risk my life with almost no chance of survival! I don't know how to use my powers or my weapon!" I shouted with a tear in my eye. "Look, Kid, I know you can't see it now, but where is your sense of adventure? Where is that chaoticness inside you? Everyone has that side. Yours is just compressed. Come on Kid, give it one more try." Hephaestus begged. I took that into the deeper thinking part of my brain. I bet if I run everywhere I could give the jewel back, and the keeper would have enough time to give it to someone else. Then again if I don't have the speed, that beast will destroy everything. It could kill everyone in town. Oh, but if I can't control my new powers I could too. What if the boys fail and the reason is that I'm too scared? Emma might be running out of time in the hands of that thing, sure she sucks but every life has a purpose......even hers. "This is the last time I'm transforming, after that I insist I give the necklace back. OK?" I asked. Hephaestus hesitated but he eventually nodded at my proposal. "Hephaestus, give me strength." I stated. My transformation came once more, with nothing changed. OK. I need to use the whip somehow to get me across town. I take the whip off my belt with shaky hands. "Alright, this can't be too bad. Indiana Jones did this right? Oh, Sam, that's a movie, it wasn't real." OK, focus. I whirl the whip around and I throw it into the direction that I wanted to go. It magically grew in length and it latched onto something. I swung with my whip and made it across town in no time. It was actually kind of fun. I might miss this when I give it back. Will I give it back? No time to think about that. I made it across town and found the beast just walking down the street with Emma in one claw, and annoyingly the three boys in the other, and of course they were arguing. " Yo booger head, you can literally move earth, get us out of here!" The white on screamed. The green one looked offended. "Excuse me, but you could also get us out of here with a tornado but I don't see you doing anything. Also, why are you talking to just me? Look at water boy. He hasn't used his powers once to take this beast down." The green one yelled. " Hey! I didn't say crap about you, why are you attacking me?" the blue boy piped in. I sighed to myself. Boys act like five year olds. I wrap my whip around the beasts legs and it falls over, but still manages to keep the four hostages. I swing myself to stand in front of the beast. It was now ginormous. How does it grow so fast? The thing stands up to its full height. The boys laugh at my sudden braveness. " I might as well write my will. This girl five minutes ago could barely walk in front of this thing. What is she going to do? Cry and hope it goes away?" The blue one said. The four laughed. I growled. I pushed out the insult and focused. It was time to save these jerks, and win back some pride, even if I plan to give this back.
