My eyes were squeezed shut from the horror of my death. Instead of meeting my death to the solid ground, I was caught by a set of arms. I open my eyes to see white hair and piercing brown eyes. "Cyclone?" I said out loud with shock and he nodded at me. He put me down and I just kept looking at him. "How did you catch me? I was going down too fast," I said and he sighed. "I-uh had to completely free fall and go under you. Then create a whole new tornado to keep us from falling. Nothing too complicated really," Cyclone said. I give him a smile. "You could have died doing that. Thank you," I say and he nods in response. I think we are even now with all his not showing up shenanigans. Cyclone uses his tornado to carry us to the griffin that was still spiraling to the ground with Hightide and Dolostone keeping it from flying away. As we were flying to the others something hit me. If this thing crash lands, it could hurt hundreds of people or possibly kill them! It can't crash land. We need to get rid of it now. "Hey, guys! This thing cannot hit the ground! It can hurt hundreds of people! Is this thing out cold?!" I shouted and the boys looked at the falling beast. It was still slightly conscious. I don't know if Hightide can get water all the way up here from where he was, Dolostone is pretty far away from earth to get a new rock, and I don't think Cyclone can form a suffocating tornado. There is only one way to do it. I have to try and land this thing again. "Guys! I have to try and land this thing again! You guys need to get on the ground and get everyone out of town!" I shouted and they nodded in response. Cyclone set me on the beast's back once again, and the boys went back to the ground to get everyone out of the way. The griffin was more concerned with falling and trying to regain control that it didn't notice me land on its back. I wrap my whip around its mouth like a horse bit again and I just start pulling. Its head shoots up with the force of me pulling on the 'raines,' but it is still going down really fast. I keep pulling and it starts to end up more parallel to the ground. As we get lower I see the park is completely clear so I aim for the park for a somewhat smooth landing. I see the boys going to the park, getting ready to either cushion our landing, hold this thing to the ground, or catch me if I start to go flying again. I braced for impact, but we didn't hit land, but we hit a giant water bubble so we almost did a cannonball in the middle of a park. I jumped off the griffin and it got stuck in the bubble because Dolostone held down its wings with rocks and Cyclone was at the side, prepared to hold it down if the other boys needed it. "Hightide. Let the bubble go. I think I can take it from here," I said, and immediately the water got absorbed into the earth. It was struggling under the rocks, but it was going to be gone in a minute anyway. I press the button on my whip and it turns into its beast get-ridder stamp. I don't know what else to call it. I stamp its rib cage and it immediately turns into the familiar black dust. It went over the town fixing everything. I turn to the boys and they have smiles on their faces. "Cyclone, I really don't know how to thank you. I could have died today and you risked your life to save mine. I appreciate it," I said and he lowers head with a small blush going to his cheeks. "Consider it a sorry for being selfish before," He said and he smiled at me. "So now that the emotional stuff is over and everyone likes everyone now, are we going to talk about how we just defeated a fucking griffin?!" Dolostone shouted and we laughed. "Hey, dudes, so I think it's a good idea to, I don't know, just chat. I think it would help us have a stronger team bond. Plus, I don't have any plans and I want to socialize," Cyclone said and we laughed. Dolostone and Hightide nodded in agreement quickly, but I wasn't sure. "Dolostone and I are in, what about you Sparks?" Hightide asked, looking at me with a smile. "I don't know guys. It could reveal our identities and that probably shouldn't happen," I said and they all groaned. "Come on. I promise to not bring up anything that could reveal our identities. We can just talk about anything, it doesn't have to be about ourselves," Cyclone said and they all looked back at me. " I don't know gu-" sigh. All three of them sigh like I just asked if two plus two equaled seven. "Look, if you want to come, go on top of that skyscraper over there at eight. That's around two hours from now," Cyclone said pointing in the direction of the place where me and Hightide talked just the two of us. After the mugging incident. Where he gave me more confidence to do this whole thing. "OK, I'll think about it, but I have to go. I have to check up on someone. Bye guys!" I said and I swung away to find a place to transform back. I transform somewhere near my house and I go back to my normal self. "So how are you not freaking out about the fact you just battled a griffin?" Hephaestus asked and I laughed. "I think I am more shocked than excited.......Hey, why can't I use my powers? Everyone else can, why not me?" I asked and Hephaestus shrugged. "You would have to ask the keeper. I don't really know," He said and I sighed. What if I never can use them? What if I end up dependent on the boys' powers? I start walking home when I hear footsteps behind me. It sounded like the person was sprinting. I turn around to see Logan running at his top speed. He looks good running to- oh my god I'm such a dork. "Hey, Logan are you OK? Why are you running?" I said worried and he finally stopped in front of me and bent over to catch his breath. He was breathing heavily like he ran a marathon. "We got separated and I didn't know where you were then all of a sudden everyone got evacuated and I didn't see you there and got really worried so I started searching. I ran into Steven and Ellie and they never saw you and I was thinking the worst," He said, somehow fitting that all into one breath. He really cares about me that much? Could he...... no. Can't be. He likes some other girl, I knew that. "I'm fine, I really appreciate the concern. Are you OK? You didn't get hurt or nothing?" I asked looking him up and down.I started from his perfect eyes then I moved down to the collar bone, looked at both his arms, went to the lower abdomen........ I should stop. My face feels really warm and I have thoughts in my mind that really shouldn't be there. "Yeah, everything is good. I am really glad you're OK," Logan says with a charming smile and I try to give one back, but my mind was full of fan-girly thoughts. "Well-I-uh have to go. I have to go see if my brother is OK. I'll see you tomorrow?" I ask and he nods. We go our separate ways and then I feel a kick from my pocket. "You so like him it is almost painful. Can you just ask him out already? Take your own advice for once," Hephaestus said from my pocket and I scowl. "What advice? I don't have relationship advice," I said and Hephaestus scoffs. "Oh yeah, as soon as the advice is for you, you have no ideas, but when it's for someone else suddenly you're a love expert?" He said with an obvious smirk. I give him a look of 'what are you talking about?" and he continues. "You gave the two lovebirds you call friends the advice they needed and look how well that turned out. Their date is tomorrow," He said with happiness and I sighed. "They already liked each other, Logan and I don't have the same feelings. I'm his friend, not his crush," I said kind of sad and Hephaestus kicks my side from my pocket. "I still say tell him, I want to see how this turns out. I will finally make love happen!" He shouted. I roll my eyes and start walking home. "Oh shut up. Love isn't for me, never has never will."
