I SLOWLY WALK THROUGH THE GARDEN OF OUR MANSION. It's quiet out here. There is no one around me, and there aren't any parents who are telling me what to do. As I am surrounded by green, I grab a letter out of my pocket. Our house elf Molly gave it to me before my dad could get his hands on it. On the envelope, I see my name written in the beautiful handwriting of my best friend. I open it, grab the parchment and read it carefully. My eyes go over the words while taking in the message. Too bad the summer is almost over, I had a great time at home, but I do miss you a lot. I am happy she had a great time. At least one of us had. I put the letter back in the envelope and slip it into my pocket. "What was that?" I look up, only to see my dad. "Nothing, it was nothing," I say as I walk past him as I want to go back to the house. He grabs my wrist before I can escape him and turns me around. "Show me your pockets." "Dad, I don't have anything there," I say as I move my wrist to get out of this unpleasant position. "Show me." I sigh and get the letter out of my pocket. His eyes go over the words and after he looks at me. "You were not supposed to have this. How did you get this?" I see the anger in his eyes, but it doesn't scare me, I got used to it. I can't say Molly's name because he will directly give her clothes or something. "She got it from me, Xavier." Says my mother as she walks towards us. Dad finally lets go of my wrist, and I touch it with a painful look in my eyes. "Lucille darling, you know what I always say. Summer break is family time. So no letters." I think this rule is ridiculous, but I don't say anything to him about it. "Xavier, this is the last day of summer. I think she can read a letter from her friend. Tomorrow she will go back to Hogwarts and let's be honest; it would be nice if people know she is alive." Dad sighs and runs his hand through his hair. "I am sorry, Lucy, your mom is right. You can keep the letter here." He gives me Josephine's letter and after he walks back to the mansion.

"Listen carefully, Lucy, you know the rules. No communication with others in summer. Your friends know that as well, so I don't know why they still send you letters." I stay silent, knowing that she is moments away from figuring it out. She sighs, "please don't tell me you have been sending letters all summer." I stay silent again, not knowing how I can save myself. "Luce! Why would you do that?" "I have the right to talk to my friends during the summer. I hate his rules! Why does everything have to go his way?" She steps closer and puts my hair behind my ear. "Your dad works hard to give us everything we desire. He never asks for anything except a summer with family. We can at least give that to him." I sigh, "yes, mother." She smiles a bit. "Now go inside, it is getting late, and tomorrow we have to make sure you don't miss your train." "... again..." I whisper, what makes her laugh. "Yeah, last year didn't go as planned." She hugs me tight and after we walk back to our house.

"Mom, how did you experience your fifth year? Some say it's tough." She looks at me with a small smile. "My last three years were the most amazing years I have ever had. I made new friends and found the love of my life." I know this story. My mom was a true Ravenclaw, and my dad was a Slytherin. They met in the Astronomy tower; my mom was there because she wanted to write a letter to her family, and my dad was there because he was with another girl. The moment he looked into her eyes, he knew that she was the one. Or well, if I may believe my mom... "-I am sure you too will have an amazing experience." She interrupts my thoughts. "Thank you, mom." We both walk inside, and I directly go to my room, where Molly is already waiting for me. "Can I do something for you, dear Lucy?" She bows deep, and her nose almost touches the ground. "Do you want to pack my trunk, please?" "Of course mistress." She smiles and after she starts working. I walk to my bed and lay down for a moment. The fifth-year is going to be different, better, I hope.

"JOSEPHINE, COME HELP WITH DINNER, WILL YOU?!" My mother calls out from the kitchen. I'm currently sitting on one of the luxurious sofa's in our parlour, reading one of my many books. The room was dead silent merely a second ago, not hearing any sounds from the outside world. This room is one of my favourite spots around and in the house. I love the quiet and peace it provides me. "Josephine?" She calls again. I quickly finish the page I was currently reading and close the fine blue leather bound book. "Coming, mother." I reply after placing the book on the side table before leaving the room. The bright daylight had been replaced with a dark sky.

After I enter the kitchen I hastily grasp one of the aprons and put it on around my waist. "You can gash the vegetable's for me, darling." I get started with the greens while thinking about tommorow. Summer has come to an end. I miss my friends terribly, in particular, Lucy. "Are you excited for tommorow?" I look up. "Yes, I am." She smiles. She sighs a bit, "I'm going to miss you, darling." "I'll miss you too, mom. I won't forget to write, unlike Keith."

"I heard that!" I look over to the opening dividing the kitchen and dinner room from eachother. "Keep on walking, loser!" I shout. "Language, Josephine." "Sorry, mother." I promptly start chopping vegetables again. "I'm nearly done, you can withdraw now." My mom says after I finish the greens. I leave the kitchen and make my way back to the parlour to grab my book and after take the stairs to the second floor. The second and last stairs lead me to my bedroom. The highest room in the house. I close the big blue wooden door behind me and step towards the small sofa, where I lower myself into. With my feet up on one of the arm facing's, the book laying on my chest, I close my eyes giving out a sigh. I love being with people but I also greatly enjoy my alone time. I hear a knock on my door and immediately come up straight, "Come in!" My brother enters the room and glances straight at me, "dinner is ready."

After dinner I pack my trunk full of clothes, a wooden box with jewellery and few other small things. When I'm done I gaze at my reflection for a bit, thinking about things, before allowing myself to fall onto my bed. Almost instantly slipping asleep.

"Well, I think this is your stop, I will see you later, Jo." I lose all my thoughts and glance up at my brother, who has grown a lot taller over this summer. Pretending like I heard everything he said to me, I nod, "yea, see you later." As I look to my left I see several of my friends sitting in the compartment. Laughter fulls my ears which make me smile spontaneously. "Goodmorning, lads." I chuckle while entering the compartment. "Morning," "Goodmorning, Jo." "Hey, Jo." I take a seat next to Hudson and give him a smile. "What where you boys grinning about?" Isaac grins a bit, before puttings his hand on August's shoulder. "Gus, here, got a girlfriend." I look at them suprised. "What? When did this happen?!" I beam at the blonde boy. "Apparently this summer, Audrey, the girl from Hufflepuff that lives down the street from him, they hanged out a couple of times." "Well, congrats, mate." "Thanks, Jo."

"Tell me about your summers, I love to hear it all." Lucy grins as she takes a place next to Isaac. While Isaac starts talking about France and his amazing summer I look over at Hudson. "Glad to see you survived the summer." Hudson whispers with a small grin. "Urgh, don't even get me started."

I sip on my pumpkin juice while listening to the conversation going around our friend group. "Glad to see you're alive, Collins," Nathaniel says as he walks by our group with Cassius at his side. Lucy raises her middle finger toward him without giving him a glance. "I hate him," lucy sighs. "How is he your brother?" Hudson raises his shoulders and as he does that we all start laughing. "I really wished he would improve over the course of the summer," "I really forgot how annoying he was." I say with a laugh. Lucy grins a bit. "At least you guys don't have to live with him!" Hudson throws into the conversation. "Yeah, I feel sorry for you." We laugh a bit at Isaac's comment before replacing this topic with another one while enjoying our food.
