chapter thirty-six; Cupid screwed up
"Okay, truth or dare Lucy."Lucy Reese Collins
"LUCY, YOU'RE EARLY, THE BOYS ARE STILL IN THE KITCHEN GETTING DRINKS AND SNACKS," Theo says confused as he sees me when walking out of the bathroom. He is only wearing a towel. "I know, can I stay here please...-" I mumble and I sit down on his bed. "What's going on?" He sits next to me with a concerned look on his face. "I just got a letter from the Ministry of Magic. My dad is a person of interest in the case against you-know-who." I say as I grab the letter and show it to Theo. "It's suspected that he was involved in a few recent cases, such as-" He stops breathing for a moment and looks at me. "I know-" my voice fades away. "-the Murphy family, Keith Merriweather and Johnson Merriweather." He finishes what makes my eyes pool. "What do I do Theo?" I whisper carefully trying not to panic. "I don't know. I seriously don't know." He says while still holding the letter. He pulls me against him and holds me for a while. The door opens but I ignore it.
"Do we even want to know?" Cassius says as he and Nate walk in. "Probably not," Theo says and he puts down the letter. "What is that?" Nate asks curiously, but I can't tell him. He will tell Jo. "Nothing important," I say as I make the letter disappear. It will be saved and sound in the wall above my bed. There is an awkward silence. "Maybe you should get dressed," I say while looking at the boy, still only wearing a towel. "Yeah, maybe I should." I lay down on his bed while the boys fix everything for tonight. Nate walks towards me and sighs. "You know you can tell me when something is wrong. You know that right?" "I know I can, but not with this." "But you can tell Theo?" "Yes, I can. I am sorry, Nate." He shakes his head and walks to the sofas leaving me on Theo's bed. What is going on with this boy?
When everyone arrived we all get something to drink and to be honest my drink needs to be strong. "Please, Luce, don't drink too much, tonight. I am scared you can't handle it." Theo whispers when I walk past him with my drink, what causes that Jo and Charles look at us with confusion. "I know and I won't," I say as I sit down. A lie. "Let's play some games." Nate suggest and we all look at him now. "Sounds good, truth or dare?" Noah says while looking at all of us for permission. "Yea sure," I say at the same time as Jo. "Great. Truth or dare Lucy." Nate directly says what makes me chuck my drink down and look at him. "Dare," I say without doubt while looking straight at Nate. "You have to keep your hand on the very inner thigh of the person next to you for the next round." I almost choke in the new drink I got from Charles. "But the only person sitting next to me is Theodore." I say confused while looking at the boy. I feel Charles' grip tighten. I am laying against him and his hands rest on my body. "You have to do it." Nate says coldly. "Fine." I say annoyed and I put my hand in Theo's inner thigh.
About an hour later we are all very very drunk and you definitely notice that in the game. My lips move against Charles while my hands go through his hair. "Okay it was kissing not almost having sex guys." Noah says while laughing and we slowly let go of each other. "Truth or dare, Cassius?" I laugh while trying to keep my focus. "Dare," he says and Jo and I exchange a look. "I dare you to make out with Noah." The boys look at us with wide eyes. Theo looks around Jo and tries not to laugh, even Charles' lips leave my neck only to look at the group. "I- are you serious?" "Deathly serious." Jo laughs. The boys roll their eyes and move closer to each other.
