THE COMMON ROOM FROM SLYTHERIN IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN OURS. I am laying on one of the sofas with my head on Regulus' lap. Everyone is talking with each other and no one pays attention to me. "Luce, be honest with me. Are you okay?" Regulus suddenly says making me snap back into reality. "It's too much, Reggie. I can't do this." "What are you talking about Lucy?" Cissy says concerned as she looks at me. "I don't know if I can keep doing this. If I can keep living like nothing is going on. If I can keep breathing and live my life...-" Now all the attention goes to me. "Luce...-" Bella whispers as she moves closer to me. "I lost more people than I can count. I almost died a few weeks ago and I made the dumbest mistake ever by telling the one person who actually loves me to stay away. It's all too much." Guilt grows in Bella's eyes and I don't know why. "This is depressing." Someone suddenly says what makes us all lookup. "Get out of here, Vanity." I say wearily trying not to hit her in the face. "Poor Collins wants to kill herself. How sad," she starts sarcastically. "Trust me, all of us would be better off without you." She says mean making me snap. I put my hand forward and the next moment she gets slapped against the wall.

"Maybe we should get something to eat." Regulus states as he helps me get up. The whole common room stares at us, including the other boys sitting a few seats further. The boys who almost killed me. I am surprised to see that Peter is sitting with them. I feel so sorry for him after Lianna broke up with him he went downhill very fast. But he and Lianna just weren't meant to be.

We arrive at the great hall and I leave my friends to sit with Jo and Nathaniel on the Ravenclaw table. "You look like you had a horrible day, here drink this," Nate says concerned and he gives me a drink. I take a sip and it tastes weird. "Jo, try this, it's weird," I say and I give the cup to Jo. "Jo, you shouldn't-" But it's too late, she already drank some from it. Suddenly I realise what's happening. "Nate, did you just put Veritaserum in my drink?" "I did, how are you feeling?" "Awful, why did you do that?" "Because I need some answers, you understand that right?" "I do, I have been pretty confusing." "I just need to know how you feel about me, Luce." "Nate, I love you as a f-" His lips touch mine and right now I am so desperate that I can only kiss him back. I need physical contact, I need something who loves me even if I don't love that person back.

I make another drink for Jo and finish the bottle of firewhiskey. I just made one for myself and I must say both of us are already pretty tipsy. "I just wish everything could disappear once in a while. I wish there is one day a year where we are just in a room without anyone, where we can just think about ourselves." Jo mutters as she grabs her glass. "Muggles call it getting high," I say as I lay on my back. "A time where we can only think about the good things in life." "Are there any then?" Jo states as she chucks her drink down. "There is only one way to find out." Now she looks at me with a confused look in her eyes. "What do you mean?" "Muggles have these pills if they want to get high. Look." I get something from under a loose floor plank and show it to her. For a moment she stares at the two pills in my hand. "What happens if it goes wrong?" She wonders as she looks in my eyes. "We could die, but I mean, I've been there, done that so I am not scared." Silence for a moment. "Me neither, let's do it." She says as she grabs one of the pills. "Do we have to get it down with a drink?" "Yeah, but I don't think alcohol tho, that will increase the chance to die," I say honestly. Merlin, the fucking Veritaserum. "I don't mind." She says while putting the pill in her mouth and she takes a sip. "Believe me, me neither," I say and I do the same.
