"THIS YEAR IT'S IMPORTANT THAT YOU WORK HARD because after this you will have to choose in which direction you're going," McGonagall says as she gives us the assignments we had to hand in last year. She arrives at me and gives me the parchment. "I didn't expect this from you, Lucy. But I recognise the situation you were in, Madame Pomfrey told me. So you will get a retake." I look at the paper. Dreadful. I gulp and look at the woman in front of me. "Thank you, professor." I smile and the girl next to me looks concerned. "What do you have?" "Dreadful," I say without emotion. "You never had a dreadful." "I know, Bella. I wasn't on my best last year." "We know," says Cissy carefully. "How is that now?" "It's fine," I state as I grab a quill pen. "Yeah, now you aren't in a fight with your best friend, Nate or me, so that's a good thing." Charles gets into the conversation. "Shut up Garfield, you were perfectly fine and you have a poor." "True, but I am a Slytherin, not a Ravenclaw. Bad grades are normal for me." He fires back, making me roll my eyes. "Sure, Garfield. It's your own choice to end on the street." I say annoyed. "Didn't you literally end on the street?" "Asshole," I mumble and after I turn to the girls again. "So you two are better again?" "Do you guys fuck?!" Narcissa and Bella say, making everyone look at us. "Good Job, Bella," I say while rolling my eyes. The others laugh and after we continue working.

"What the hell, Jo? Wait up!" "What's wrong now?" She says angrily as she turns around. "You told Theo to stay away? Why would you do that?" I ask confused and with a small smile. "Because it doesn't feel right! This was my decision, so mind your own business." She yells at me and I am surprised she snapped at me like that. "Why are you mad at me?" I whisper trying to calm her down. "Because you constantly try to tell me what to do? First, you choose Nathaniels' side and after you force yourself into my house and-" "What?" I say trying not to show how my heart drops. "Stop forcing yourself into my life! I know you have daddy issues and that you want to protect me or something but just don't! You are being ridiculous!" "Why are you suddenly acting like this?" "I saw how my mom talked to you about something! She doesn't even want to tell me! You are my best friend so tell me, what upset my mother so much! Tell me and I am not mad at you for looking out for Theo." Silence. I know exactly what she is talking about but I can't say anything. I promised. "I don't know." Suddenly she hits me in my face, hard. Everyone in the hallway is now staring at us. "Best friends don't keep secrets from each other! And I have the feeling that you only live in secrets!" "You are unbelievable! Just because you have issues with the boys you're playing with doesn't mean that you can just wander around and hurt me for no reason! What's wrong with you, Jo?! You changed! My best friend would've never hit me in the face! I don't know who you are, but you are not her!" I yell at her while slowly feeling my cheek. It hurts. Before I give her time to respond I walk away from her. I push students out of the way.
