"MISS LUCY, I HAVE A LETTER FOR YOU! IT'S FROM HIM AGAIN." Molly says and I smile. "Thank you for sneaking it past my dad." "It's easy now, miss Lucy. Now that your mother is in bed, your father is with her all the time." I run my hand through my hair with a sigh. My mom hasn't been feeling well all summer and I am so worried about her. Father told me she has this muggle disease, where you get extremely tired all the time... I know he's lying, but I don't want to go in a discussion because I am scared of what he will do. "Is miss Lucille going to be okay?" Molly asks carefully and I can see the concern in her big eyes. "It is going to be fine, Molly. I know it. You can go now." "Of course, miss Lucy." She says while bowing deep. When she is gone I look at the letter in my hand. His handwriting is absolutely beautiful and I started to love that over the summer. I open the envelope and let my eyes go over the words.

Luce,
I really hope you got this letter and you didn't go through the same trouble as the last letter.  My parents are wondering if I have a secret girlfriend and to be honest, I think it's kind of funny. In my last letter, I said my parents and I would go to the USA. Now we are home again and I couldn't wait to write to you. I really hope your summer was okay, I wish you could have gone to America with me, you would've loved it... Tomorrow school starts again and I am pretty sure we will be seeing each other again :) Take care!

After finishing the letter I quickly put it away and after I go downstairs. My dad is sitting in the living room, but I ignore him and walk further. "What do you think you are going to do?" "I am going to get school supplies because no one in this house wants to make time for me." I snap at him. "You ungrateful litter!" He says angrily while throwing his scotch glass to me. Just on time, I dive away but I still feel how a shard of glass hits my face. Right after I feel the blood rolling down my cheek. I get the shard out of my cheek and look at my dad. "You could've had blinded me! Are you crazy?!" The next thing I know I am on the ground feeling like every bone in my body is on fire. I can't help but scream. "Xavier! Xavier! That's our daughter! Stop it!" My mom yells as she runs downstairs. He stops and for a moment I don't get up. "Luce, darling are you okay? Come on, get up." I do as she says while the tears roll down my cheek. "C'mon, I will get a napkin for your cheek walk with me." "No," I whisper while getting a napkin from the table. "I am going to Diagon Alley. Alone. I will be home before dinner, don't worry, mom." "Of course, sweetheart. Have fun with your friends." She hugs me a bit and that's when I realise how much pain I have. "Thanks..-" I mumble and after I leave the house.

While pressing the napkin against my cheek I arrive at Diagon Alley. For a moment I look around, but soon I find my friends. They at the bookstore. I walk towards them and Jo is the first one who sees me. "Luce! How was your summer?" She smiles, but then she looks at my cheek. "What happened to you?" She grabs my hand and looks at my cheek, but also my arms. "It's nothing, it was my own fault, I snapped at my dad," I say while trying not to cry. "What did he do, Luce?" It's Hudson, he and August glance at me with a concerned look on their faces. "Nothing bad, it's fine. We should buy our books." I say while walking into the store. "Talk to her, Jo." I hear August whispering but I decide to ignore it. Inside I see a little girl and I immediately recognise her. "Hey you are Nelly, right? Charles' sister." She nods a bit and smiles. "Who are you?" "I am Lucy." "I heard a lot." She grins a bit. Damn, I know she's twelve, but she's really good. "Nelly, who are you talking... to?" "Hello to you too, Charles," I smirk as I stand again. "Luce." Says Nate and he hugs me tight. "Please don't squeeze too hard-" I mumble and directly he lets me go. "Your dad?" I nod, "and the crusiatus curse...-" I mumble after that. "What?!" Noah says loudly and directly everyone is looking at us. "Is he crazy?" "Just let it go, boys," I say to Nate, but also to the others.
