chapter twenty-nine; groovy nights
"Just don't. I fucking need you, Charles."Lucy Reese Collins
"CAN WE RECORD THIS, THEY ARE KINDA CUTE RIGHT NOW?" Someone says while chuckling. "Noah they are going to kill us-" It's Theo. "Dude, Charles and Lucy are just meant to be-" I move a bit what makes them stop talking. I turn around and lay my head on someone's chest. "C'mon Theo, this is really cute. Let me take a picture." Cassius. "How did he end up here anyway?" I recognise Noah's voice. "After Lucy went after you and Jo passed out on your bed, Charles went after her and well I think he ended up on the same sofa-" "Dude, can you shut up? I am hangover and Luce is still asleep." I feel how Charles moves a bit trying to get up. "What are you even doing here? I thought you said and I quote: I am not in love with Lucy." "It's complicated dude and I- I am not." I hear the doubt in his voice but I want to hear more. "Mate, the whole friend group is rooting for you two." Cassius chuckles. "The whole friend group is rooting for Theo and Jo but that also isn't happening as well," I say as I turn to the boys. I feel Charles' arm on my stomach but I ignore it when I sit. "You said you would keep it a secret," Theo says annoyed while rolling his eyes. "You ruined that when you hit Noah yesterday. Besides, I know everyone was already thinking it, you just confirmed it, not me." "She is right, Theo. You gave it away, not Lucy." Cassius laughs as he pats the shoulder of his friend. "Let's just go to breakfast." "Changing the subject, really smooth Ellington," I say while putting on my sweater, or well, Charles' sweater.
"He is right though. I am hungry too." We all look up only to see the brown-haired boy that caused us being friends in the first place. "Let's go then," I laugh and after we all leave the common room.

I walk to the Room of Requirement with Jo, James and Sirius. The party already started because I can hear the noises in the hallway. Sirius opens the door and we all look inside. "We did well," James laughs while probably searching for Lily. The two are dating now and I must say, they are the cutest couple. "I am going and try to find some friends," I say and after I walk away. I am almost at the bar when I notice myself in a mirror. The little black dress is short, almost too short but I couldn't care less. "What is this pretty girl doing here, all by herself?" "She is trying to have fun, she is trying to get laid," I say to the boy with a small smile. "Are you now? And who will be the victim?" I bite my lip while moving closer. "I am talking to him." He moves in and right before his lips touch mine I back away. "It's not that easy, pretty boy. I think I am going to get a drink." I say while walking away.
Hours later I am already pretty drunk which is totally irresponsible because I already had a good amount of alcohol yesterday. However, there is one person drunker than I am and that's Charles. Boy, I think my words hit hard. He is dancing on the dancefloor and I can see the eyes of the different girls waiting to make a move. Sorry girls, not today. I make my way there and grab his hands only to lay them on my ass. I put my arms around him and together we start to move. "You shouldn't be wearing this dress, Luce." He whispers while one of his hands moves over my leg. "Why not?" I whisper back while making the space between our lips smaller. "Because it will give guys the wrong impression." His eyes go to my lips and back to my eyes and I can almost feel the dilemma he's in. "Maybe that's what I was going for." While I talk my lips touch his' a bit, driving not only him but also me crazy. "Were you now? And for who did you dress up like this." I know he wants this as much as I do but I will not be the first one to give in. "I think you know for who-" His lips smash on mine and I can't do anything else besides kissing him back. The attraction between us is crazy and even though I know I shouldn't give in I can't fight it. The kiss is breathtaking and we are forced to let go of each other to get some oxygen but soon after we are connected again. Fuck why do I need him so bad?
