A/N: I had to write an essay on the Boston Massacre and now I have to go to the dentist. My day has sucked, how are you?

Tomorrow was the first day of class, and everyone had mixed feelings about it. Some were excited, and some just wished they could be done with school already. But, in the end they were all preparing for the same thing.
Yet one person got a little something extra.

Laurens woke up and went down to the cafe. James had spent the night in the hospital to be with Maria, so he didn't bother being quiet as he woke up earlier than necessary. He got dressed and went to the on campus coffee shop and cafe. Theodosia, Aaron Burr's girlfriend, happened to be a barista.

"What can I get for you?" She asked.

"Mocha frappuccino with whipped cream on top." Laurens smiled.

"You seem a little young for a college student. How old are you anyway?" She asked with a wink.

"17." He grinned.

"Impressive." Theo smirked.

"He turns 18 next week." Alexander walked up out of nowhere. "He just looks like he's ten."

"Thank you Mr. Hamilton." Laurens sighed.

"I'll have your order in a few minutes." Theo turned around and did her thing.

"Flirting when you have a girlfriend?" Alexander asked.

"I wasn't flirting. Plus, Peggy's been flirting with that Stephen guy since the party." Laurens complained.

"He's probably just an old friend."

"Or an old flame."

Laurens went back to his room for a minute. Just seconds later came a knock on the door. Assuming it would probably be James, Laurens opened the door for the person to come in. He was surprised to see a police officer.

"Oh, am I in trouble?" Laurens asked.

"No, are you John Laurens?" The cop said.

"Yes. Why are you here?" Laurens questioned.

"Your father..." The cop started before Laurens interrupted.

"Ugh!" He banged his head against the door frame many times. "Is he dead?"

"No, he actually woke up two days ago." The police officer said.

"Oh my gosh! I didn't kill him!" Laurens cheered. The man stared at him like he was crazy. "Sorry, it's a long story."

"Well, I came to say that we would like to know if you could speak to him." The cop continued.

"I'm sorry what?" Laurens tilted his head. "Are you serious?"

"It just so happens he knows information about an escaped convict, and will exchange the information for a a few years off his sentence and a conversation with you and a Mr. Alexander Hamilton."

"You can't be serious." Laurens stated. "He wants to see Alexander?"

"Those were his words. I know this might be uncomfortable for you..."

"Yeah, very!" Laurens got angry.

"But if you do, you could help us catch a murderer on the loose and save lifes." The cop said.

"Ugh, will it be possible in any way for him to escape?" Laurens asked.

"No, he will be handcuffed to a table, and a security guard will be right outside the room. We will also be monitoring 24/7."
