Missing School. Great!

The thing that sucks about not making it to your classes, is that you end up doing all the assignments anyway. There is no mercy for those who have been in a car accident. Laurens still had work piling up on itself. He hadn't missed more than two days. But two days in college? Sorry bud.

"Why?" Laurens asked. He was gonna be in the hospital for the rest of the week. "My major is art, there shouldn't be this much math."

"What's wrong with math?" Peggy asked. She had been coming to see him and to drop off assignments everyday after class.

"I can do it. I'm good at it. I hate it!" Laurens frowned. (That would be me.)

Peggy just laughed. "Well, life goes on."

"Who needs math anyway? Unless you're going into a field of business like construction or a teacher or something, you don't really ever use Algebra in your life!" Laurens ranted. (Something my sister says all the time. My mother does agree though.)

"Sometimes I wonder how I love you so much."

"But you do." He smirked.

"Fine, I do." She gave him a kiss on the cheek. "I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Ok, bye."

Laurens missed Peggy as soon as she left. He was in a hospital. You can imagine how boring it was there. The only stimulating thing was the TV. After watching all nine seasons of The Office, it kinda got old. He knew Alexander would come and see him later though. Laf too. When his family did arrive, the conversation started up again.

"You need anything?" Washington asked.

"A check out date."

"I know it sucks. But they need to make sure you live. That's kinda important." Washington joked.

"Sucks? The nurse gave me a punch card." Laurens stated.

Alexander was about to burst out laughing. Washington gave him a death stare. Alexander quickly shut his mouth and gave a convincing nod instead.

"They said you'll be released on Friday, in the afternoon. Just wait until then and it will all be worth it." Washington reassured him.

"I guess." Laurens sighed. His life sucked and he knew it. But he still had great pleasures in it. His family being one of them. Peggy and her sisters being another. Stephen Van Rensselaer......... well... That's complicated.

He wanted him to die in a ditch.

"Bonjour mon ami!" Frenchie joined them.

"Hey Laf!" Laurens smiled. He did love his family.

"Well you're not dead yet, so I'd say your day has gone pretty well." Lafayette joked.

"Except for this." Laurens sighed and pulled out all of his assignments due at the end of the month. "Not pretty well. You probably should have just stopped at you're not dead yet."

"Mon ami!" Lafayette gasped. "When are you gonna find time to do all that?"

"Well, there's not much else to do in a hospital." Laurens rolled his eyes.

"My apologies. This stuff is hard enough without doing it all at once!" Lafayette said.

"Not good enough you say? Try having your entire right arm in a cast when you are right handed." Laurens chuckled, trying to lighten the heavy mood.

"Well," Alexander changed the subject to help him. "I'm finally interviewing for a part time job."

"Cool, what is it?" Laurens asked.

"A secretary. But it's better then nothing." Alex shrugged.

"That's not a bad thing. You write like all the time. If anything, it would probably be good for you." Lafayette replied.

"Yeah, I think you'd be good at it." Laurens added. "Is it to start your fund for a house?"

"Yeah, but at the rate we're going, we won't be able to buy anything until Juinor year." Alexander responded.

"I can always help." Washington chimed in.

"We already talked about this. Me and Eliza don't want to take money from our parents. We want to do this on our own." Alexander stated.

"Awe, he's adulting!" Laf laughed.

"What?"

"Adulting. I turned the word adult into a verb." Lafayette said proudly. (Dang, alot of the quotes in here are actually things my family says. This would be my brother.)

"So it's like maturing?" Laurens chuckled.

"IT IS ADULTING!!!" Lafayette exclaimed to get his point across whilst everyone laughed at him.

"So, how are things with you and Peggy?" Alexander once again changed the subject.

"Good-ish. She went to a lunch her grandfather set up with Stephen Van Rensselaer, and Stephen professed his love for her apparently."

"No way!" Alexander exclaimed. "Actually?"

"Yep. Altought I knew he had more than just a wish to be friends from the moment I saw him. I didn't think he would take it this far however." Laurens sighed. "What's even worse is that I don't think Peggy would have told me unless I was dying. I asked about it the day of the car crash and she wouldn't budge. If it had never happened, do you think she'd keep secrets from me?"

"I don't think I should answer your relationship problems for you. But I honestly don't know. You should talk to her about it." Alexander continued.

"Like I talked to her on Saturday? Like I talked to her on Sunday when we almost died? I can't think of how I should approach this."

"Sorry man."

"Laf? Give me some of your French love wisdom." Laurens asked.

"Well, if you talk to her and she truly loves you, she should tell you the truth. If you don't know when she is lying, ask Eliza to he there with you. Siblings know when other siblings lie." Lafayette suggested.

"Ok, then I'll talk to her on Friday."

A/N: some more wise words from my brother.

"If Aaron Burr hadn't shot Alexander Hamilton, he would still be with us to this day."

And...

"Thighs are just butt legs."
