Yay! Angelica and John's wedding was coming up, and the last minute details were being put into place. The rehearsal was also today. The whole wedding party consisted of, Angelica with John. Duh. Alexander with Peggy, Laurens with Eliza, and Lafayette with Kitty. After the whole thing that happened at the dinner, Angelica felt bad and added Kitty to her wedding party. She needed on more person for a bridesmaid anyway.
"Alright! Places everyone!" The wedding administrator called out. (My mom actually used to be a wedding administrator. Just a little fact.)
Everyone practiced what they were supposed to do for the wedding. They walked out of the house, turned the corner, made their way through the garden, and ended up at the gazebo. Angelica had everything planned out, the flowers, the cake, the clothes, the shoes. Everything was ready, except...
"Oh my gosh Eliza!" Angelica screamed. "We no longer have a flower girl."
"What! They canceled the day before the wedding? That seems a bit harsh." Eliza answered.
"I have John's little cousin for a ring bearer, and no flower girl." Angelica continued.
"Well, do we know anyone with a little girl who could... nevermind, I'll take care of it." Eliza finished.
"Thank you, you're a life saver. I'm so glad I have sisters. Brothers would have been fine, but not really at a time like this." Ange laughed.
"Girl power!"
"Work!" They both said giving a high five.
"Alright, I'll see what I can do." Eliza said. She pulled out her phone and did some things, Angelica couldn't really tell what, then left the Schuyler Manor.
Kitty was overwhelmed with guilt. She knew she should probably say something to Laurens, but how do you talk to a person who's heart you just broke on top of being rude and not actually caring about them?
She saw him alone in the garden, he had his notebook out and was writing or drawing or something. She couldn't quiet tell from how far away she was. Kitty made her way over and sat down by him. She didn't say anything yet, but she just watched the trees sway in the springtime breeze. Laurens was the one to speak up first. Kitty was surprised when he didn't roast her for everything she had done."Can you pass me the number 2?" He asked. She reached over by his back pack and pulled out the pencil he wanted. "Thank you."
They were both silent again for a couple minutes. This time, Kitty spoke up first.
"I'm really sorry." Kitty said.
"It's not that big a deal. Like Eliza said, we probably wouldn't have gotten married and in that case you might as well just end it." Laurens answered, not looking up from his sketch.
"No, I do need to apologize. I shouldn't have made you dress in leather jackets all the time, or make you grease your hair back. I should've just been satisfied by you as a person." Kitty stated. "And I shouldn't have ended it. Not like that."
"Well thanks." Laurens replied.
"It's just.... I feel like my whole family hates me and just wants me out of their lives. So, I started dating guys like non stop. Just because I needed to feel wanted. And now I have a lot of apology messages to write out later." Kitty explained.
"I understand. I mean I've never dated like that, but I get what it's like to feel like a disappointment. I grew up in foster care you know." Laurens added. "If you had just talked to me I wouldn't of cared if we broke up. I mean it would hurt, but not like this."
"I'm so sorry."
"Nah it's cool. Just... wait a little before trying again, and maybe change your intentions."
"Ok. So we good?"
"Yeah, we good."
(This child is so forgiving. So is Eliza. My children and their hearts of gold.)
Eliza got in her car and drove off to a certain apartment complex. She got out and made her way to the apartment where she needed to go.
She knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer it."I need to borrow your baby."
Maria looked at Eliza in shock. "Wait what?"
"Angelica's wedding? We lost the flower girl and I was hoping you could carry Susie down the aisle?" Eliza asked.
"I thought it was tomorrow? I don't even have a dress for her, or me." Maria answered.
"We already have a dress for Susie, we would just need the tailor to make a few alterations. And you can borrow one of my dresses." Eliza replied.
"Well, if everything is already taken care of except for a person, then yeah. I'll be there at...."
"The wedding is at 1PM so we need you to be there at around eight maybe?"
"Ok then. See you there.".
Eliza pulled out her phone and called Angelica. "Hey! We have a flower girl."
"Thank you so much Eliza. Who is it anyway?" Ange asked.
"It's Susan Reynolds." Eliza answered.
"Yay, I'll be able to sleep tonight." Angelica joked.
"You ready?"
"Yes. I'm getting married."
